Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, during his visit- meeting in Kabirdham district, today inaugurated a high level bridge constructed at a cost of Rs. 9 crore 10 lakh on the Sakri river of National Highway No. 30 of Kawardha city. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that this bridge will write a new chapter of development in this district and will bring connectivity revolution. This bridge built over the Sakri river is the highest bridge in the city. After its formation, there will be perennial connectivity to Jabalpur , Mandla , Raipur , Marg and the nearest district headquarters of the state Mungeli , Bemetara , Bilaspur in Madhya Pradesh . Due to the construction of the newly built high level bridge, now the nearest district Mungeli , including Madhya Pradesh, during the rainy seasonWill keep in touch with Bemetara. This will provide 12 months of transportation facility. The people of the city, happy with the construction of the new bridge, expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister for fulfilling the old demand.
It is worth noting that the 100 – year-old Sakri river bridge, built during the British era, had become very dilapidated , in which the connectivity of traffic was cut off due to floods during the rainy days. The demand for building a high level bridge across this river was being made for a long time. Forest Minister and Kawardha MLA Mr. Mohammad Akbar had also requested the Chief Minister for the approval of construction of a high level bridge across the Sakri river keeping in view the public aspirations and proper development of Kabirdham district. With the efforts of Cabinet Minister Mr. Akbar, Rs. 9 crore 10 lakh was approved by the state government for the construction of a high level bridge. Shri Akbar also performed Bhoomi Pujan for the construction of high level bridge and also kept monitoring himself to complete the bridge construction in stipulated time .As a result of which the high level bridge was completed in just 9 months.
The high level bridge connecting Madhya Pradesh and Raipur-Mungeli-Bilaspur has been completed in just 9 months . Construction work has been done on the Sakri river on Raipur -Kawardha-Jabalpur National Highway No. 30 . The length of the bridge is 90 meters and the width is 16 meters. The British era built in the past on the Sakri river of National Highway number 30 of Kawardha city was about 100 years old, which used to get submerged every year in the rainy season , due to which the traffic was blocked and in view of the problems in the traffic of the residents and the national highway. Administrative approval was given for the construction of a new high level bridge. bridge construction work 27 januaryStarted on 2020 and completed it in just 9 months. In the construction of this bridge, with the participation of many engineers from the chief engineer to the sub-engineer and the participation of 15-20 skilled labor and 40-50 unskilled labor at the site, this new bridge has been made ready for the convenience of the general public. Now people will have ease in traveling. The citizens of Kabirdham district have thanked the Chief Minister for the gift of the bridge.
On the occasion of the inauguration of the bridge, the Health Minister and the Minister in-charge of the district, Shri T.S. Singhdeo , Forest Minister Shri Mohammad Akbar, MLA Pandariya Smt. Mamta Chandrakar along with Neelkanth Chandravanshi , Member of CG State Renewable Energy Development Agency (CREDA) Kanhaiyalal Agarwal , Divisional Commissioner Durg Mahadev Kavre , Collector Janmejay Mahobe , Municipal President Shri Rishi Kumar Sharma , District Panchayat Vice President Representative Hori Sahu , Agricultural Produce Market President Shri Neelkanth Sahu , Vice President Shri Chova Ram Sahu and other public representatives were present.
