Raipur: Chief Minister returned the amount of chit fund investors

Amount of Rs 38 lakh 40 thousand returned to 122 investors of Korea and Bemetara district

An amount of Rs 38 crore 08 lakh 67 thousand  has been returned to chit fund investors in the state.

Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel today returned an amount of Rs 38 lakh 40 thousand 684 to 122 victim investors of Koriya and Bemetara districts who had invested in a chit fund company. The Chief Minister today participated in the program virtually from his residence office in the capital Raipur.  
It is noteworthy that till now a total of Rs 38 crore 08 lakh 67 thousand has been returned to 69 thousand 503 investors by the state government. In this series, today Rs 34 lakh 63 thousand 684 were transferred to the online accounts of 108 investors of Bemetara district and Rs 03 lakh 77 thousand were transferred to the online accounts of 14 investors of Koriya district. Also, till now 468 cases have been registered against 214 unregulated financial companies, 587 directors and 121 officials, a total of 708 accused have been arrested, challans have been prepared and presented before the court in 402 cases. 
Addressing the program virtually, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that our government is continuously working to return the money to the investors of chit fund companies. He said that Chhattisgarh is the first state in the country, where the money of chit fund investors has been returned. Chit fund companies had cheated the innocent people of the state and made them invest their savings. Companies used to extort money by giving the allurement of doubling or tripling the investment. Shri Baghel said that as soon as our government was formed, returning the money of chit fund investors was our top priority. We have achieved success in this direction by taking continuous action and will continue to do so in future also. 
Chief Minister Mr. Baghel congratulated the investors whose money has been returned today. During this, the beneficiary Mrs. Saraswati Sahu belonging to Bemetara district expressed her gratitude to the Chief Minister and said that we did not think that we would be able to get our money back. But due to your sensitive initiative towards investors, I have been able to get back my Rs 2 lakh 70 thousand. Similarly, Mrs. Urmila, a resident of Charcha in Korea district, and Mr. Balam Sai, a resident of Chirmi, shared the happiness of getting back their Rs. 1 lakh by talking to Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel and expressed gratitude towards him.   
Deputy Chief Minister Shri T.S. participated in the program. Singhdev, Home Minister Shri Tamradhwaj Sahu, School Education Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey, Forest Minister Shri Mohammad Akbar, Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Anila Bhendiya, Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahria, State Planning Commission Chairman Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam, Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Chintamani Maharaj, MLA Mr. Chakradhar Singh, Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Subrata Sahu, Principal Secretary Home Mr. Manoj Pingua, Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Ankit Anand, Mr. S. Bharathidasan, Special Secretary, Housing and Environment Department, Shri Mahadev Kavre were present.
