Raipur, 11 December 2021. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has paid tribute to the national poet Maithilisharan on his death anniversary on 12th December. Recalling his works, Mr. Baghel said that Maithilisharan Gupta played an important role in establishing Khari Boli as a poetic language and inspired new poets. His writings of Khari Boli, full of national and social consciousness, made an impact on a large section. In view of the impact of his works during the freedom struggle, the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi gave him the title of Rashtrakavi. Gupt ji was honored with many awards including Padma Bhushan for his classic literature. The Chief Minister said that the compositions of Gupta ji are an invaluable heritage of Indian literature, which will continue to guide the new generation.
