Raipur, January 10, 2023, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has paid homage to the former Prime Minister of India and Bharat Ratna Mr. Lal Bahadur Shastri on his death anniversary on January 11. Remembering Shastri ji’s role in the Indian freedom struggle, Mr. Baghel said that Shastri ji made an immense contribution in fighting the oppressive British regime and in building a strong India after gaining independence. He played a key role in the important movements of the Indian freedom struggle and he had to go to jail several times due to his active participation. His slogan of Jai Jawan-Jai Kisan, reflected tremendous respect for the food providing farmers and soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country. Shastri ji’s strong will power towards his work is visible in his decisions and actions. The Chief Minister said that Shastri ji, who embodied simple living and high thinking, dedicated his whole life for the country, his values of life will always inspire everyone.
