Raipur: Chief Minister paid tribute to the father of Nacha in Chhattisgarh, Dau Dular Singh Mandaraji on his death anniversary

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai has paid tribute to late Dau Dular Singh Mandaraji, who is considered the father of folk art ‘Nacha’ in Chhattisgarh, on his death anniversary on September 24. Shri Sai has said that Dau Mandaraji dedicated his entire life to revive and preserve ‘Nacha’. He took ‘Nacha’ to a new level by organizing folk artists of the villages. He used Nacha very well as a medium to raise public awareness about social evils.

Shri Sai said that Dau Mandaraji kept the folk culture of Chhattisgarh alive through Nacha and remained engaged throughout his life to preserve it. The state government gives Dau Dular Singh Mandaraji Award in the field of folk art and craft to honor such a true practitioner of art and to keep the Nacha art intact. The Chief Minister has said that Dauji’s invaluable contribution in the preservation of Chhattisgarhi folk art cannot be forgotten. Even today, his personality and work inspires the new generation.
