Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel paid homage to Major Dhyanchand by garlanding his photograph on his birth anniversary at his residence office today. On the occasion of National Sports Day, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel congratulated and extended best wishes to the people of the state, players and sports lovers. Recalling the contribution of Major Dhyan Chand, the magician of hockey, Mr. Baghel said that Major Dhyan Chand, who is called the magician of hockey, has made the country and the entire Indians proud with his game. In his honor and memory, every year we celebrate Dhyan Chand’s birthday as Sports Day.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that sports have great importance in life. Sports develop qualities like leadership, dedication, discipline in the personality which help to be successful in every walk of life. On the other hand, the Chief Minister said that there are immense possibilities for the youth in the field of sports. The Government of Chhattisgarh is making every effort to encourage and advance the sports talents of the state. He said, sports infrastructures of international level have been created here including the formation of Sports Development Authority to promote players at the national and international level. Chhattisgarhia Olympics has been started to identify, nurture and give proper platform to the local sports talents. With this, the youth will get a chance to move forward in the field of sports.
