Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has paid respects to Chhattisgarh state’s dreamer, freedom fighter and farmer leader late Dr. Khubchand Baghel on his death anniversary on February 22. Paying his humble tributes to Dr. Khubchand Baghel, the Chief Minister said that Dr. Khubchand Baghel dedicated his entire life for the welfare of the society and farmers. He played an important role in many social movements including in the field of education, cooperatives. During the Indian freedom struggle, Khubchand ji did the important work of awakening national consciousness in Chhattisgarh.
The Chief Minister has said that the contribution of Dr. Khubchand Baghel in the struggle for the formation of Chhattisgarh state cannot be forgotten. Expressing respect for his creativity and personality, Dr. Khubchand Baghel Swasthya Sahayata Yojana has been started in the medical field, under which free treatment arrangements up to Rs 5 lakh are being made available to the patients. The Government of Chhattisgarh has instituted the Dr. Khubchand Baghel Samman in his memory for significant achievements in the field of agriculture and to encourage research.
