Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has paid tribute to freedom fighter Barrister Thakur Chhedilal on his death anniversary on 18th September. Recalling the contribution of Barrister Chhedilal, the Chief Minister has said that Barrister Thakur Chhedilal has made an important contribution in awakening the spirit of nationalism among the youth and connecting them with the freedom movements. On the call of Mahatma Gandhi, he left advocacy and started strengthening the non-cooperation movement. To spread awareness in Bilaspur region, he made an innovative use of Rashtriya Ramayana from the stage of Ramlila. He organized the youth through ‘Seva Samiti’. He also played an important role in the Civil Disobedience Movement.
The Chief Minister said that Thakur Chhedilal ji was rich in versatile talent. Apart from being knowledgeable in many languages, he was an accomplished writer, journalist, musician and hard-working leader. He was also a member of the Constituent Assembly. The Chief Minister said that his achievements and contribution to the society will always be remembered.
