Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel welcomed the representatives of Panchayati Raj and urban bodies in the conference.
Today a conference is being held in Kanker. You all know that at one time there were only 5 thousand public representatives, Rajiv Gandhi ji worked to strengthen Panchayati Raj.
Ever since Panchayati Raj came into force, work has been done to provide reservation to one-third women.
In Chhattisgarh, women have been given priority in Panchayati Raj and urban bodies. We have the highest number of women voters in Chhattisgarh.
Our government has done the work of strengthening Panchayati Raj, we have increased the honorarium of all the public representatives.
We have implemented the PESA law. We have worked to get back more than several acres of land.
Chhattisgarh government is continuously doing development work in Bastar, whether it is loan waiver, purchase of paddy at support price, purchase of forest produce, development of Narva Garva Ghurva Bari, Ripa, they are providing new avenues of employment.
We have made arrangements to purchase millets and make candy from tamarind.
We have done the work of saving tribal culture and making Devgudi.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel said in his address that Rajiv Gandhiji said that there are two crore people here but the public representatives are only 5 thousand. That’s why Rajiv ji made the provision of Panchayati State. They decided this through the 73rd and 74th amendments. Also, arrangements were made to give reservation to one-third women.
Ever since the implementation of Panchayati Raj, women have been sitting on the stage. She is also running the Panchayat and also remains the Mayor.
We have done the work of promoting women in Chhattisgarh. The voter list has just been published, in which there are more women voters in 57 assemblies.
There is no discrimination in Chhattisgarh. There is no discrimination between sons and daughters. Women are being taken forward. Work is being done to strengthen Panchayati Raj.
We are continuously working to strengthen the Panchayati state. We have implemented the PESA law. We have done the work of returning the land of tribals in Lohandiguda.
Tribal development is happening rapidly in Chhattisgarh. The amount of tendu leaf collection has been increased. We are purchasing 67 minor forest produce. Two lakh women are getting employment. We have started 300 industrial parks. We are following the path shown by Mahatma Gandhi. We have started Millet Mission. 22 types of food items are being manufactured in Nathiyanwangaon. We are providing people the right price for their products.
Chhattisgarh is moving on the path of justice. We have started Godhan Nyay Yojana, Landless Labor Nyay Yojana. We are continuously working to save the culture. The people of Bastar are always full of patriotism. Jamshed ji Tata came here for the mine in the state, the tribals here said that they will give it to the government and will not give it to private hands. Then Nehru ji started BSP from the iron here.
Public enterprises are the wealth of the country. Nehru ji started their construction. We are continuously working for the progress of the general public.
