The total cost of this medical college building, hospital and residential complex is Rs 374 crore.
The specialty of this medical college is that for the development of skills and competencies of medical students, there is a skills lab and special facilities for testing and treatment of deafness.
Mata Rajmohini Devi Smriti Hospital has all kinds of departments including Medicine, Surgery, Orthopaedics, Gynecology and Obstetrics Department, Pediatrics Department, Anesthesia Department, Ophthalmology Department.
Many other types of state-of-the-art diagnostic facilities will be available in the hospital.
Eight departments will function in the new college building, including the departments of Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Community Medicine, Forensic Medicine, Microbiology, Pharmacology.
With the completion of the infrastructure work of this medical college and hospital equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, the entire Surguja division will be benefitted.
Surguja division is a tribal lot division. This is the section of the society which has been deprived of basic facilities and rights for centuries.
I am happy that due to our efforts, today the light of medicine and education is reaching the tribal areas of the state.
When we started the Mukhyamantri Haat-Bazar Clinic Yojana, its aim was to provide health facilities to remote villages. When we started the Mukhyamantri Slum Swasthya Yojana and Dai-Didi Clinic Yojana, our aim was to provide medical facilities to the poor people and mothers and sisters living in the slums of the city, but our aim is much bigger than this.
We aim not only to provide convenience to the citizens, but also to ensure access to state-of-the-art and quality facilities.
Our aim is to create such a strong infrastructure of medical and education that Chhattisgarh’s identity is established at the international level.
During our tenure, steps have been taken in the direction of opening 8 new government medical colleges in the state. Out of these 04 have been opened, 04 more are in process.
We have equipped all our government hospitals from development block to district headquarters with facilities. To overcome the shortage of doctors and medical staff, they have been deployed.
When the Corona crisis hit the country, the whole country saw the potential of Chhattisgarh and the willpower of the government. In that hour of crisis, we were busy strengthening our hospitals.
I have said this earlier also that medical and education are the subjects of topmost priority of our government. Along with expanding the facilities, we are also ensuring a better environment. Everyone should get clean drinking water, clean air in cities too, our rivers and ponds should be saved, there should be good cleanliness everywhere, minimum use of chemical fertilizers in the fields, maximum promotion should be given to organic farming, We made plans in all these areas and implemented them effectively.
We made the facilities accessible to the poorest of the poor. We opened Shree Dhanwantri Generic Medkill Stores, so that every person can get cheap and quality medicines.
Through Dr. Khubchand Baghel Swasthya Sahayata Yojana and Chief Minister Special Swasthya Sahayata Yojana, we enabled all people to get treatment for all kinds of diseases. In these schemes, assistance of up to Rs 05 lakh is given to patients for treatment.
