Full height Waltair rail line under bridge built at a cost of Rs 28.11 crore’
‘Around 5 lakh population of urban area will be benefitted’

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel on Friday inaugurated the full height four lane railway under bridge constructed at the level crossing on the Raipur-Vizianagaram branch rail route from Raipur to Bilaspur. It is the state’s first full height four lane railway underbridge inaugurated on the Raipur-Bilaspur highway, which has been prepared by the Chhattisgarh Public Works Department at a cost of Rs 28.11 crore.
With the construction of this full height four lane railway under bridge, the population of about 5 lakhs of Raipur urban area will get the benefit of smooth traffic. Raipur to Bilaspur route Raipur-Vizianagaram branch railway gate at the level crossing located on the railway crossing was repeatedly closed and the traffic was blocked. Keeping in mind the public aspiration, the approval of this important project of the state government was given in the year 2017. The total length of this bridge is 336.96 meters located on the approach road.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that keeping in view the difficulties of the people, the state government has taken initiative at every level to complete this project expeditiously. Today this project is being completed and inaugurated and the much awaited demand of the people of the area is being fulfilled, with the commencement of this underbridge, the traffic will be smooth and there will be convenience in movement.
The Chief Minister said that during the last four years, the state government has made continuous efforts to ease the traffic of Chhattisgarh. During this, the works of 9 railway over bridges and 6 under bridges have been completed.
The Chief Minister said that keeping in mind the present and future needs of the state, we have created infrastructure at a rapid pace. With the synergy of our strong infrastructure and strong economy, our state of Chhattisgarh will establish new dimensions of development.
Public Works Minister Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu, Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Vikas Upadhyay, Chairman and MLA of Chhattisgarh Housing Board Mr. Kuldeep Juneja, Raipur Mayor Mr. Aijaz Dhebar and other public representatives and concerned officers were present on the occasion of inauguration of Railway Under Bridge.
