Raipur: Chief Minister Mr. Baghel’s new initiative for the development of rural economy: C-Mart’s modern showrooms will open in cities for marketing of village products.

  Raipur, 09 November 2021. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has taken a new initiative to connect the finished products in villages with the market of cities for the rapid development of rural economy. For this, the Chief Minister, Shri Baghel, under the schemes of various departments of the state government, has made commercial arrangements for marketing of the products manufactured by women self-help groups, craftsmen, weavers, artisans, potters or other traditional and cottage industries. Instructions have been given to the officials to set up C-Mart like a modern showroom. In this regard, he has asked the Industries Department to issue directions immediately.  
 With the establishment of C-Mart, all these categories of entrepreneurs will get maximum benefit. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, while directing the Chief Secretary, has said that in the first phase, 8 to 10 thousand square feet in the case of municipal corporations and 6 to 8 thousand square feet in the case of municipalities in all district headquarters in the first phase like a modern showroom.     Mr. Baghel has asked to start the work for the establishment of C-Mart immediately. For this, he has given instructions to use any government building available at present. He has said that in places where suitable building is not available, land should be allotted to Collector, Industries Department or Forest Department as per requirement in good location. The Chief Minister gave the departmental amount of various schemes for the upgradation of buildings available for C-Mart or construction of new building, CSIDC. Or has been asked to use the amount of Minor Forest Produce Association. Mr. Baghel has said that if additional amount is required for the construction and operation of C-Mart, it will be given from the Industries Department.
    The Chief Minister has directed to make arrangements for marketing of these items like the products of ‘Chhattisgarh Herbals’ by the Minor Forest Produce Association. Along with this, he has asked the District Collectors to coordinate with the Managing Director, Minor Forest Produce Association for the arrangements for processing, packaging, branding and marketing of all other traditional producers manufactured by women’s groups.
