Raipur, 01 October 2020. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has paid courteous tribute to Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of his 151st birth anniversary. Following the footsteps of Gandhi Ji, we have been striving to achieve the goal of Gram Swaraj. In the same sequence, we have launched Suraaji Gaaon Yojana and developing Narva, Garva, Ghurva, Bari is a new way, said Chief Minister. Mr. Baghel further said that under Suraaji Gaon Yojana, we have set the goal of building nearly 11 thousand panchayats, out of which construction of nearly 5400 gauthans have already been completed. These gauthans are being developed as livelihood centers. Suraaji Gaon Yojana is an important step towards strengthening the rural economy. Expanding this work further, we have started Godhan Nyay Yojana from the day of Hareli. Through this scheme, we are procuring dung from cattle ranchers and villagers. Till date, Rs 21 crore have been paid to the dung sellers against the procurement.
With Suposhan Yojana and Universal PDS, we have ensured that no citizen in the state has to go to sleep hungry and nobody gets deprived of nutrition. We have declared a decisive war against malnutrition, said Chief Minister. He further said that Gandhi ji did various experiments to ensure good health for all, this is the reason why we have given priority to Universal Health Services. With Chief Minister Haat Bazaar Clinic Scheme, Chief Urban Slum Health Scheme, we will reach out to even the last person. Mahatma Gandhi’s message of Compassion if the motto of Chhattisgarh.
Mr. Baghel remembered the Chhattisgarh tour of Mahatma Gandhi saying that only the news of his arrival at Kandel led to the victory of farmers. Memories of Gandhi Ji’s visit to Chhattisgarh for ‘Achhootoddhar Yatra’, Satnami Ashram of Bilaspur, his address to the gathering ay Jaitusav Math of Raipur, and his visit to the Ashram in Baitalpur of Bilaspur are still lively. Mr. Baghel said that we would make collective efforts to make Gandhi Ji’s dreams come true and we would create ‘Naya Chhattisgarh by following his footsteps.
