The spark of harmony and communal harmony that Bapu awakened in Chhattisgarh is still inspiring: Shri Baghel

Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has paid tribute to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of his birth anniversary on 02 October. Recalling Mahatma Gandhi’s invaluable contribution to the country, he has said that Mahatma Gandhi gave a new direction to the freedom movement in India. He set an example for the whole world by adopting the path of truth, love and non-violence. Chhattisgarh government is moving towards fulfilling the Gram Swaraj that he had envisioned in the country.
By starting Suraji Gaon Yojana in Chhattisgarh, Narva, Garuva, Ghurva, Bari are being developed in a new form. The Gauthans built under this scheme are now developing as livelihood centres. Through Godhan Nyay Yojana, cow dung and urine is being purchased from cattle herders and villagers, which has given a new base to the rural economy.
Mr. Baghel said that Gandhiji did many experiments for good health of all, hence we have given priority to universal health service. Chief Minister Suposhan Abhiyan was started in Chhattisgarh from the day of Gandhi Jayanti in 2019, declaring a decisive war against malnutrition. As a result, 02 lakh 65 thousand children of the state have become free from malnutrition. About one and a half lakh women have come out of anemia. This is a big achievement. In Chhattisgarh, we are also trying to provide medical facilities to the last person through the Chief Minister Haat Bazaar Clinic Scheme and Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Scheme.
Recalling Mahatma Gandhi’s stay in Chhattisgarh, Shri Baghel said that the memories of Mahatma Gandhi from Chhattisgarh are still alive. The news of his coming to Kandel in Chhattisgarh during the freedom struggle had given victory to the farmers. Gandhiji’s arrival in Chhattisgarh had filled all the citizens including women, students, sanitation workers with new energy. The flame of truth, non-violence, harmony and communal harmony that he ignited in Chhattisgarh is inspiring even today. Shri Baghel said that by following the paths shown by Gandhiji, we will create a ‘New Chhattisgarh’ and realize his dream of village self-rule.
