Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel met the famous agricultural scientist and father of Green Revolution, Dr. M.S. Expressed deep sorrow on the demise of Swaminathan. He expressed condolences to the bereaved family of Dr. Swaminathan and prayed to God for the peace of his soul.
The Chief Minister has said in his message that Dr. Swaminathan changed the face of agriculture by bringing Green Revolution in the country. He was also honored with many prestigious awards including Padmashree and Padma Vibhushan for innovation, research and many notable works in the field of agriculture. To make the farmers self-reliant, he developed such varieties of wheat and rice, which increased the crop yield. Dr. Swaminathan always remained an advocate of fair support price to ensure fair price for the produce to the farmers. As per the vision of Dr. Swaminathan, arrangements were made to provide fair prices for the crops to the farmers of Chhattisgarh.
