Raipur , 25 January 2022. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel today met the national level players of Bastar while observing the works under construction in the sports complex and wished them all the best for their bright future. The Chief Minister met Kumari Radhika Poyam, who displayed her talent at the national level 4 times in archery during her visit to the sports complex. Kumari Radhika won the gold medal in the Sub Junior Archery National Competition.
Talking to Kumari Radhika, the Chief Minister inquired about the archery kit from her and inspected the arrows used in archery in her hands. Ms. Radhika Poyam hails from Burungpal, the inaccessible Vananchal area of Bastar district, yet she has not let her passion for archery go down and has proved her talent at the national level by practicing continuously. Giving information to the Chief Minister about the archery game, Kumari Radhika said that this sport is also played in the Olympics and she wants to become the first player from Chhattisgarh to play the Olympics in archery. Kumari Radhika thanked the Chief Minister for the International Class Archery Range and Training Center at Dharampura Sports Complex.
Chief Minister Mr. Baghel also met 13-year-old Mr. Yuvraj Singh residing in Danteshwari ward of Bastar district during his observation. Mr. Yuvraj has been representing Chhattisgarh in Muay Thai Boxing continuously for the last five years at the national level. Studied in class VIII, Mr. Yuvraj aims to bring laurels to Chhattisgarh’s name in Muay Thai Boxing at the international level. The Chief Minister wished Mr. Yuvraj for his bright future.
It is worth mentioning that many such players have emerged from the soil of Bastar who are bringing light to the name of Chhattisgarh at the national and international level. International level sports facilities are being expanded in Bastar to nurture the sports talent of Bastar.
