Raipur, 06 January 2021. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel today inspected the diversified facility cum value addition center operated by Forest Department in Vananchal village Danikundi of Marwahi development block of Gorela-Pendra-Marwahi district and inaugurated the shed constructed here. The Chief Minister discussed with the women getting training and employment here, in relation to training, products being manufactured by them and marketing. During his visit to the campus, he appreciated the activities conducted here. According to the concept of Chief Minister Mr. Baghel, the Forest Department is trying to raise the standard of living in tribal-dominated remote villages by creating rural employment by considering local resources, local technology and local people as the basis.
Seeing the interest of women of the area in Danikundi center, through various training, their skills are being upgraded and livelihoods are being created. This center is being operated for the processing of products obtained from this forest. There are lacquer bangles and jewelry manufacturing unit, where 80 women from nearby villages have been trained and provided materials and equipment for bangles manufacturing under ESIP project of Forest Department. Women make bangles after discharging their daily family obligations, which earns them up to five thousand rupees a month. Soon a small two-wheeler will also be given to them so that they can sell their goods in the Haat markets.
A fragrant agarbatti and kadi manufacturing unit has been set up at this center at a cost of Rs 7 lakh. Bamboo will be made available for Kadi from the forest plantation. The incense sticks manufactured here will be pure organic products. This unit will directly benefit 10 local women and those who operate grocery stores in 200 villages through local and retail sales will also benefit. There is a plan to sell 1 crore incense sticks every year, from which an income of three lakh rupees is expected. 25 lakh rupees have been provided from the CSR item of the Forest Development Corporation for the expansion of this unit, from which a shed cum warehouse will be built. The foundation was laid by the Chief Minister. Most of the citaphal in the state is produced in Marwahi, which is purchased by middlemen in cheap price. The Forest Management Committee will buy it at a minimum rate of Rs 10 per kg and there is a plan to manufacture its pulp at Sitaphal Processing Center. Seethaphal seeds will also be sold. The net profit will be around Rs 30 per kg. More than 3000 people will be benefited from this scheme. Similarly, ice cream manufacturing has been started by mixing fruit pulp of Sitaphal, Mahua flower, Jamun, Tendu etc. Dheki rice processing unit has also been established in the enrichment center.
