Raipur, 24 January 2022. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has greeted the people of the state on National Tourism Day on 25 January. In his congratulatory message, he has said that tourism has an important place in the economy of the country and the state. This not only gives people an opportunity to get to know the local cultural, geographical, natural, historical sites, but it also opens new avenues of livelihood for thousands of families. In view of this, the state government is working on an action plan to promote tourism in the state by developing its ancient heritage.
Shri Baghel said that the tourism of Chhattisgarh, full of archaeological heritage and natural diversities, is establishing its identity in the country. Along with many delightful places full of natural beauty, there are many archaeological and historical importance sites that have a glorious past and rich heritage. There is archaeological evidence of the coexistence of Shaiva, Vaishnava, Buddhist and Jain sects in Sirpur. Sitabengra cave in Ramgarh of Surguja, oldest theater, Chitrakot in Bastar, waterfalls of Tirathgarh, Kutumsar caves, many places in the whole of Chhattisgarh are of special importance from the point of view of tourism. Champaran has special religious significance as the birthplace of Mahaprabhu Vallabhacharya. Along with the development of natural places in terms of tourism, there is entertainment, stay, It is being developed as a resort by arranging food etc. Wherever Lord Shri Ram went during his exile in the holy land of Chhattisgarh, it is being developed as Ram Van Gaman Path.
