Raipur: Chief Minister gave instructions to the collectors to save the people from the outbreak of cold wave in the state

Raipur, 21 December 2021. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has directed the collectors to take necessary measures in the districts for the needy people in view of the severe cold and cold wave that has been prevailing in the state of Chhattisgarh for a few days. The Chief Minister asked the collectors to ensure arrangements for bonfires during the night in public places, especially in squares, railway stations, bus stands, passenger waiting rooms, etc. In addition, warm clothes to the destitute and needy people with the help of volunteers, social organizations, donors. And have been asked to distribute blankets etc. The Chief Minister has said that special care should be taken that the needy should not face any kind of problem due to the outbreak of cold wave.
It may be mentioned here that in view of the outbreak of cold wave in different parts of the state issued by the Disaster Management Department, timely advice has been given to the general public to avoid cold-stroke. The Disaster Management Department has advised people to make arrangements for food, water, fuel, battery chargers, emergency lighting and simple medicines as a precautionary measure to avoid cold stroke. To avoid the wrath of cold, people have been asked to use warm clothes, blankets etc., keep windows and doors tightly closed and also arrange bonfire in a safe manner as per the requirement. It has been advised to cover the nose, ears and mouth properly while leaving the house. Apart from taking special care of elderly people, newborns and children, arrangements have been made to ensure adequate air evacuation during use of room heaters as per requirement. Do not use coal to heat the rooms. If it is necessary to burn coal and wood, So use proper chimney. Burning coal in closed rooms can be dangerous, as it produces a toxic gas like carbon monoxide, which can be life-threatening.
