Raipur: Chief Minister gave instructions for the formation of Bastar Special Forces: Local youth of Gram Panchayats in sensitive areas will be recruited

Raipur 14 September 2020. Chief Minister  Bhupesh Baghel has given instructions to constitute Bastar Special Force in the review meeting of Police Department held at his residence office here today. He said that prompt action should be taken for this. In this special force, the local youth of gram panchayats of sensitive areas of Bastar should be recruited, this will provide relief to the local people. The Chief Minister said that the difficult geographical conditions and knowledge of the local language of Bastar region is a big challenge for the police. If the youth of the inner villages will be recruited in the force, then the police work will become much easier. A proposal for the formation of a special force by the police headquarters will be prepared and sent to the government soon. Home Minister Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu was also present in the meeting.

The Chief Minister said in the review meeting that during the Kovid crisis, officers and employees of the Police Department have done commendable work, which is being praised everywhere. The Chief Minister said that swift action should be taken for the release of the jailed tribals in small cases through Patnaik Committee. The review of these cases should be reviewed every month. It was informed in the meeting that 625 cases were presented before Patnaik Committee, out of which 404 cases have been recommended by the committee. 206 cases have been disposed off from the court. Similarly, the Chief Minister directed to speed up the process of refund of funds to the concerned people by expeditiously resolving the cases of chit fund companies. He instructed to review these cases every month. It was informed in the meeting that in 17 cases related to chit fund, auction proceedings have been done and 9 crore 4 lakh 40 thousand 220 rupees have been deposited in the account of the government. In Raipur and Durg, auction proceedings are under process in two cases. A total of Rs 16.04 lakh has been returned to the concerned people in Durg district, Rs 1.88 lakh in Rajnandgaon district, Rs 2.80 lakh in Bilaspur district and Rs 2.22 lakh in Bemetara district. Mr. Baghel said that the time table of constable recruitment should be declared by the department as per the direction of the court. He said that senior police officers should quickly resolve the problems of police personnel with sensitivity and establish direct communication with police personnel. Take prompt action on their promotion, transfer and leave etc. Mr. Baghel said that in the last 18 months and especially during the Kovid crisis, a good image of the police has been created among the general public. The Chief Minister directed police officers from the border states to curb liquor smuggling and betting with rigor. He said that pre-fabricated bridge-culverts should be constructed in the difficult areas of Naxal affected areas.

Home Minister  Tamradhwaj Sahu said that due to the functioning of the police, the general public should have respect for them and fear of criminals. He directed to make efforts for starting the petrol pumps of the police in all the districts and said that the amount of income from this should be spent in the police welfare. He called for the need to make the information system more robust. Chief Secretary Shri R.P.
