Raipur 9 November 2021. Expressing deep displeasure over the slow action against the absconding operators of chit fund companies, Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel said that action should be taken to arrest the accused at the earliest. Similarly, he expressed unhappiness over the lack of expected progress on auction of properties of chit fund operators. Chief Minister Shri Baghel took serious note of the delay in the recruitment process of Bastar Fighters and said that the recruitment process should be completed by January 2022 in any case. He said that strict instructions were given to stop the inter-state ganja smuggling. He said that hookah bars operating across the state should be closed and it should be ensured that hookah bars do not start again. Chief Minister Shri Baghel reviewed the works of the Home Department at his residence office here today.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister said that the safety of women and children is the top priority of the government, yet the delay in preparing the app for the safety of women is a matter of great regret. He asked the police officers in a stern tone that after preparing a women safety app, its demonstration and launch should be done soon.
In the review meeting, the Chief Minister expressed his displeasure over gambling-betting and illegal business. He said that gambling, betting and illegal business should not take place in any district. Action should be taken by the police officers keeping a strict vigil on illegal traders. The Chief Minister asked why weekly review of law and order was not being done in the districts even after his instructions.
Chief Minister Shri Baghel said that the presence of police officers should be made mandatory in the major places of the city to instill confidence in the citizens and fear among the criminals. Negligence in this work will not be tolerated. In the meeting, the Chief Minister expressed displeasure over the slow progress of returning the cases registered against the tribals.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel said that incidents of smuggling of ganja are continuously coming to the fore, this should be stopped immediately. He directed the officials of the Home Department that a letter should be written to the NCB of the Government of India for prevention and action on inter-state ganja smuggling. Officials said that CCTV-equipped checkposts have been set up in the border districts to check ganja smuggling. Special monitoring is being done especially in the districts of Jashpur, Raigad, Mahasamund, Gariaband, Kondagaon, Jagdalpur and Sukma adjoining the border of Orissa.
The Chief Minister directed to do DGP Merit Scholarship in the name of Shaheed Vinod Choubey. In the meeting, the officials told that the policemen are being given weekly off. The grant in Police Welfare Fund has been increased to 3 crore per annum. The promotion process has been greatly simplified in the department. The merit list has been issued for the promotion of about 3750 employees. Officials said that along with 2100 posts under Bastar Fighters, the recruitment process is going on for 975 posts of Subedar, Sub Inspector and Platoon Commander. About 4 thousand policemen posted at the same place for more than two and a half years have been transferred.
It was informed in the meeting that social media monitoring cells have been constituted in all the districts and at the state level to prevent the posts spreading misinformation, social envy, religious hysteria from going viral on social media. Training has been given for the cell of five districts of Raipur range, with this the training of monitoring cell of all the remaining districts will be completed this month. In the meeting, the works of roads, culverts and police housing boards under construction in Naxal affected areas were reviewed.
The meeting was attended by Home Minister Shri Tamradhwaj Sahu, Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain, DGP Shri DM Awasthi, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Shri Subrata Sahu, DG Jail Shri Sanjay Pillai, DG Anti Naxal Operations Shri Ashok Juneja, ADG Shri Arun Dev Gautam, ADG Shri Pradeep Gupta, ADG Shri Himanshu Gupta, IG Intelligence Dr. Anand Chhavda and other senior officers were present.
