Raipur, 20 August 2020. Chief Minister Bhupesh Badhel has congratulated and greeted the people, especially women, on the occasion of Lok Parva Teeja (Hartalika Teej). He has wished happiness, prosperity and happiness for the people, expressing their best wishes to all the mother and sisters of Tejharin. The Chief Minister said in his congratulatory message issued here today that traditional Teej-festivals have been formed in the life of Chhattisgarh. They have special significance and influence in our culture. Teeja also has a distinctive tradition here. To celebrate Teeja, daughters are brought to their in-laws by their father or brother-in-law. Elderly women also wait for this special occasion. On this occasion, friends in the maiden together share their happiness and sorrow. There is a tradition of consuming Karu Bhat one day before Teja festival. On the day of Teej, women observe Nirjala fast with auspiciousness of their husbands and stay awake throughout the night to perform bhajan-kirtan and worship Shiva-Parvati.
Mr. Baghel has said that the state government is making every effort to save the festivals and traditions associated with its original culture. Public holidays have been started in the state on Hareli, Teeja, Mata Karma Jayanti, Chhath Puja and World Tribal Day. With this, the tradition of celebrating them with full participation has been started to maintain the social concerns of the folk festivals. Due to which new generations have also started connecting with folk culture and festivals. Seeing the outbreak of Kovid-19, the Chief Minister has told the people that while celebrating the festival we have to take care of ‘Jaan hai to jahan hai’. He has appealed that there is safety in rescue so everyone should strictly follow the rules applicable for prevention and prevention of corona infection.
