Raipur, 15 February 2022. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has congratulated and congratulated the people of the state for the Rajim Maghi Punni Mela and Shivrinarayan Mela starting from 16 February. Mr. Baghel has said that Rajim Maghi Punni Mela is a symbol of the faith of Chhattisgarh. The folk art culture of Chhattisgarh is seen here. This fair is organized for centuries at the holy Triveni confluence of Mahanadi, Parri and Sondhur rivers in Rajim, popularly known as Prayagraj of Chhattisgarh. Not only Chhattisgarh, people from adjoining states also participate in this fair in large numbers with reverence. The Rajim Maghi Punni Mela is being organized in its ancient original form as part of the efforts of the state government to preserve and promote the glorious cultural traditions of Chhattisgarh. Shri Baghel said that like Rajim, on the occasion of Magha Purnima, Mahanadi in Shivrinarayan too, People also participate with great reverence and faith in the fair which starts at the holy confluence of Shivnath and Jonk river. He has also extended the best wishes to the people of the state for the Sirpur festival starting from the day of Maghi Purnima in Sirpur on the banks of Mahanadi.
