Starting his speech on the occasion, Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel extended his greetings and best wishes on Jammo Chhattisgarhia Bhai-Bahini Man La Deori, Govardhan Puja, Bhai Dooj, Matar and Gauthan Diwas. The
Chief Minister said that this time Diwali was celebrated well in Chhattisgarh. On October 17, a few days before Diwali, an amount of about Rs. 1900 crore was transferred to farmers, livestock farmers, self-help groups, landless agricultural laborers under Nyay schemes. Along with this, the DA of the employees was also increased. Due to this this year also Diwali has been celebrated with great enthusiasm in Chhattisgarh.
Addressing the Deori Tihar and Govardhan Puja festival organized at the Chief Minister’s residence, Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel said that
We have a tradition of delivering lamps in each other’s house in Chhattisgarh. This tradition starts with Lakshmi Puja, this tradition continues till Gaura-Gauri Puja, Govardhan Puja.
Diwali is the festival of celebration of the arrival of Lord Rama to Ayodhya. Govardhan Puja is celebrated on the second day of this festival, Lord Krishna who himself was a revolutionary thinker has given a message to the whole world not only by his thoughts but also by actions.
Lord Krishna preferred the worship of Govardhan Parvat. Our Chhattisgarh government is also doing the work of serving Gau Mata. Our government is continuously doing us in the interest of the cows. Today animal farmers are also getting its benefit.
Citizens of the entire state including Durg, Rajnandgaon, Dhamtari, Bilaspur, Kabirdham have come here.
