Assesses arrangements for corona vaccination and the mechanism to prevent Covid-19 infection
Baghel instructs Chief Secretary to conduct meetings with various departments and issue the necessary guidelines soon for effective control over corona infection
Raipur. 21 March 2021. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel reviewed the arrangements made for control of Covid-19 infection and corona vaccination in the state with members of the Council of Ministers at his residence office today. He directed to ensure strict adherence to all preventive measures and guidelines to prevent the growing corona infection. He called for strict adherence to the use of masks and physical distancing rules everywhere.
In this high level meeting of the Council of Ministers, Health Minister T.S. Singhdeo and Food Minister Mr. Amarjeet Bhagat joined via video conferencing. Home Minister Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu, Agriculture Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey, School Education Minister Dr. Premasai Singh Tekam, Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, Commerce and Industry Minister Mr. Kawasi Lakhma, Urban Administration and Development Minister Dr. Shiv Kumar Dahriya, Revenue Minister Mr. Jaysingh Agarwal, Public Health Engineering Minister Guru Rudra Kumar, Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Anila Bhendia and Higher Education Minister Umesh Patel attended the meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence. MLA Mr. Shishupala Shorey and Ms. Shakuntala Sahu were also present in the meeting
In relation to the Holi festival coming this month along with marriage, funerals and other public events, Chief Minister instructed to hold meetings, under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary, with the officers of Home, Health, Urban Administration, School Education, Higher Education, Women and Child Development, Panchayat and Rural Development, Tourism and General Administration Department, and issue the necessary guidelines. He called for increasing the number of daily investigations to identify Covid infections. He called for keeping beds ready in all Covid hospitals and isolation centers with oxygen facilities as well as all other services for treatment of the infected. Chief Minister also directed to expedite the vaccination of health workers, frontline workers, citizens above 60 years and people with co-morbidities ageing between 45 years to 59 years.
In the review meeting, Additional Chief Secretary of Health Department, Mrs. Renu G. Pillai, Additional Chief Secretary to the Home Department and to the Chief Minister, Mr. Subrata Sahu, Secretary to the General Administration Department, Dr. Kamalpreet Singh, Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Siddharth Komal Pardeshi, Secretary to Urban Administration, Mrs. Alarmelmangai D., Secretary to Higher Education Department Mr. Dhananjay Dewangan, Commissioner of Health Department, Dr. C.R. Prasanna, Director Health Services Neeraj Bansod and Director of National Health Mission Dr. Priyanka Shukla were also present.
