    Raipur @the-journalist.com.  The Chief Minister, Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, during his stay in Korba today, handed over developmental works worth Rs. 271 crore 47 lakh to the residents of the district and also fulfilled their much-awaited demands. Shri Baghel took an initiative of Rs. 30 crore for the repair of Champa-Korba and Katghora-Bilaspur National Highways by the State Government. On the demand of the Korba residents, the Chief Minister announced Rs. 30 crore for the repair of the Champa-Korba-Pali-Katghora shabby road. He also announced Rs five crore 60 lakh for the establishment of ICU Unit, Burn Unit, OT Strengthening and Digital X-ray System and Physio Therapy Unit at District Hospital, Korba. Mr. Baghel also sanctioned five crore 15 lakhs for the establishment of Chironji, Cashew, Maize, Bell, Mushroom and Lac processing units in the district.

Chief Minister Mr. Baghel also announced the grant of tehsils status to Darri, Hardibazar and Pasan of Korba district and establishment of new Transport Nagar in Korba city. During his address he also expressed the possibility of starting a medical college in Korba in future. He also approved the construction of the Barabaspur-Gopalpur and Sarvamangala-Imlychapar offline roads with the help of PSUs. The Chief Minister also announced the granting of municipal status to Bankimongra after the civic body elections and grant of residential lease of land to the slum dwellers of Korba. On the occasion, the Chief Minister said in a program organized at Ghantaghar Open Theater that the Narva, Garuva, Ghurwa, Bari program started by the Chhattisgarh government will prove to be a milestone in the rural economy. This will provide employment at the local level. He said that Narva, Garuva, Ghurwa, Bari programs are ambitious programs inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s concept of village swaraj.

 

On this occasion, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Dr. Charan Das Mahant, MP Smt. Jyotsna Mahant, Rajya Sabha MP Smt. Chhaya Verma, Revenue Minister Shri Jaysingh Agarwal, School Education Minister and Minister in charge of Korba District, Dr. Premasai Singh, MLA Shri Devendra Yadav, MLA Pali -Tanakhar Mr. Mohit Kerketta, MLA Katghora Purushottam Kanwar, MLA Rampur Mr. Nankiram Kanwar, Mayor Mrs. Renu Agarva District Panchayat President Devisingh Tekam, Commissioner Shri BL Public representatives including Banjare and a large number of citizens were present.

The Chief Minister said that our government has started concrete programs and schemes for the welfare of farmers. For the benefit of the poor, a loan waiver scheme was implemented, including 50 percent discount on electricity consumption up to 400 units, purchase of paddy at Rs. 25 per quintal. The Chief Minister said that now 35 kg rice will be provided to each APL cardholder families. Mr. Baghel said that Korba is also included in 10 districts of Chhattisgarh in 50 aspirational districts of the country. He said that the government is giving priority to developmental works in the aspirational districts. The Chief Minister said that all the Haat-Bazaar Slum Clinic Scheme cess in the state are getting the benefit of health services at the local level. On this occasion, the Chief Minister flagged off 12 mobile health clinic vehicles. The Chief Minister expressed his concern over malnutrition, anemia in the state and said that the government is doing positive work for better health of children and mothers. He said that strong people will be able to build a strong Chhattisgarh.

In the program, the Chief Minister also flagged off five vehicles reaching the village for the Gandhi Vichar Yatra from the stage. He also launched village chaupal software and app prepared by district administration for monitoring the implementation of government schemes in rural areas. Mr. Baghel also released a clean city Korba video CD prepared by the Municipal Corporation on the theme of Plastic Free Korba.

  The Chief Minister inaugurated 42 different works worth Rs 251 crore and laid the foundation stone for 62 works of 19.62 crore on this occasion in Korba. He distributed various materials worth Rs 3.9 crore to 5881 beneficiaries under beneficiary oriented schemes. At the program, Mr. Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated the water augmentation scheme constructed at a cost of Rs 230 crore under the Amrit Mission Scheme to supply pure drinking water to the citizens of Korba city.
