Raipur, 01 October 2021. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has paid homage to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of his 152nd birth anniversary on 02nd October. He has said that Bapu’s birthday is a great festival for the entire humanity as his life-struggle and achievements are important for the country and the world.
Mr. Baghel said that Bapu wanted a society in which even the last person in the last row is not deprived of justice. Every hand should get work and everyone should have the right to live with dignity. The state government is trying to build new Chhattisgarh by bringing alive the concept of Ram Rajya of Bapu. We have taken many revolutionary steps for the strengthening of the rural economy and self-reliance of the people. Following the path of Gandhiji, we took many decisions like returning the land of the tribals, waiving the loans of the farmers. Chhattisgarh has set a national record in the distribution of community forest rights leases, purchase of minor forest produce in support price, started to benefit the people. Along with this, development of Gauthans as livelihood centers, We are taking steps towards strengthening the economy of the village with new initiatives like purchasing cow dung from cattle rearers and villagers through Godhan Nyay Yojana. The Chief Minister has said that the Suraji Gaon Yojana has been started by the State Government to strengthen the rural economy. Under this scheme, women self-help groups are moving towards self-reliance by joining various economic activities in the Gauthans set up in the villages. Women are preparing vermi compost from cow dung. On the occasion of 2nd October, the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, the work of generating electricity from cow dung is also starting in the Gauthans of Chhattisgarh. In the coming time, the Gauthan committees of the villages of Chhattisgarh will also have their own power plant. Rural Industrial Park will be developed in one acre of land in every Gauthan. With Mukhyamantri Suposhan Abhiyan and Universal PDS, we have decided that neither one should be forced to sleep on a hungry stomach nor eat nutritious food. be deprived of. We have given priority to universal healthcare. In Chhattisgarh, we are reaching the last person through Mukhyamantri Haat Bazar Clinic Yojna, Mukhyamantri Shahari Slum Health Scheme and Dai-Didi Clinics.
Recalling Mahatma Gandhi’s stay in Chhattisgarh, Mr. Baghel said that Mahatma Gandhi had come to Chhattisgarh during the freedom struggle. The information of his arrival at Kandel had given victory to the farmers. The memories of Mahatma Gandhi are still alive in Chhattisgarh. Gandhiji’s arrival in Chhattisgarh had filled all the citizens with renewed vigor and energy of patriotism. Mr. Baghel said that we are trying to take our efforts to build a new Chhattisgarh according to the dreams of Gandhi ji to our villages, localities and streets. For this it has been decided to incorporate the ideals and principles of Mahatma Gandhi in the curriculum of school children. Together we will build a ‘New Chhattisgarh’ following in the footsteps of Gandhiji.
