Chief Minister praises dung vendor Birsingh Nag appreciating livelihood promotion activities being done by women groups

Raipur, 9 January 2021. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel started his Narayanpur migration from Gauthan in village Keralapal today. On arrival of the Chief Minister, villagers welcomed him with traditional dance and tilak-aarti. During the inspection of the Chief Minister, the Chief Minister appreciated the various livelihood promotion activities being carried out by the National Livelihood Mission and Krishi Vigyan Kendra for local women self-help groups, cattle rearers.
The Chief Minister inspected the stalls set up by the women’s groups of the National Livelihood Mission (Bihan) for the production of mushroom production, processed packets of Sawa, Kodo, Kutki, Kulthi. The Chief Minister encouraged the women of Self Help Group. He also asked the women of the group about the organic manure and sale being made by the self-help groups of Gothan. Along with this, the Chief Minister also inquired about herbal gulal production, quail, duck and poultry farming of Kadaknath breed from women of self-help group in the stall of Krishi Vigyan Kendra.
The Chief Minister also fed fodder to the animals by harvesting the fodder wearing traditional “Chhataudi” during the Gothan inspection. Under the Godhan Nyaya Yojana, he also met the women traders of cow dung. It is noteworthy that the village Gauthan located in Keralpal is spread over 3 acres. In which 198 cattle ranchers, 113 registered cow dung families and 15 women groups are working in it. This Gauthan houses about 275 Gauvans. The quantity of cow dung in this Gothan is 2352 kg. Works like organic manure making, pasture development, improved variety of fruit and flowering plantation, and nutrition garden are being conducted in Gauthan.
During the Chief Minister’s inspection, Mr. Birsingh Nag, a resident of village Mahka told him that he is earning Rs. 17 thousand per month from cow dung collection. He is collecting more than 300 kg of cow dung. The Chief Minister congratulated him and congratulated him. The Chief Minister also planted mango saplings in the nutrition garden set up by Krishi Vigyan Kendra at Gothan.
On this occasion, Commerce and Excise Minister Mr. Kavasi Lakhma, Revenue Minister Mr. Jaisingh Agrawal, Public Health Engineering and Minister in-charge of Narayanpur District Mr. Rudraguru, MP Bastar Mr. Deepak Badge, Chairman of Board of Handicrafts Development and Mr. Chandan Kashyap, MLA, Narayanpur Antagarh MLA Shri Anoop Nag, including District Panchayat President Smt. Shyambati Netam, Municipality President Smt. Sunita Manjhi and other public representatives were present.
