Raipur: Chief Minister Baghel inaugurated the power generation project from cow dung in Gauthan of Chhattisgarh state.

Raipur, 2 October 2021. Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel today virtual launched the project of power generation from cow dung in Gauthans of Chhattisgarh state during the Kisan Sammelan organized at Basic School Ground of Bemetara district headquarters. The Chief Minister said that the Chhattisgarh Government is working towards making the villages self-supporting by realizing the vision of ‘Gram Suraj’ of Mahatma Gandhi. Now the villages of Chhattisgarh will be self-supporting in the matter of power generation from cow dung. The Chief Minister said that there was a time when the government and big industrialists used to do electricity generation. Now in our state the villagers of the village Tetku, Baishakhu, Sukhmati, Sukwara will also make and sell electricity. The Chief Minister said that those who made fun of the purchase of cow dung should now see its importance. On the occasion of the launch of electricity generation from cow dung at Rakhi Gauthan in Bemetara district, Sikola in Durg district and Bancharoda in Raipur district, the Chief Minister discussed with the women members of self-help groups and members of Gothan committees present there about their income-oriented activities. Now congratulated and congratulated on starting the unit of power generation from cow dung. The Chief Minister said that women groups are getting as much benefit from the production of vermi compost from cow dung. With the start of electricity generation, they will get double profit.

 

On this occasion, the Chief Minister inaugurated and inaugurated development and construction works costing Rs 503 crore in Bemetara district. Under various schemes of the government, grant-in-aid and materials were distributed to the beneficiaries. On this occasion, the Chief Minister inaugurated Deokar in Bemetara district, Bhimbori as Tehsil and Maro as Sub Tehsil, Polytechnic College at Than Khamharia, Swami Atmanand English Medium School in Saja, Upgradation of Health Center of Parpodi and Saja into Community Center, Deorbija and Nandghat. announced the opening of the college. The Chief Minister decided to make Beard a Nagar Panchayat and open a sub-treasury there, also to start a sub-treasury and girl’s post-matric hostel in Nawagarh, to rename Saja’s Agriculture College after Late Kumari Devi Choubey, Bemetara’s Agricultural College after former MLA Late Doctor. On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced construction of auditorium in Bemetara and one crore to Bemetara Municipality and Rs 50 lakh each to Nagar Panchayats of the district for development works.

 

The Chief Minister said that electricity generation of cow dung would be started in all the Gauthans of the state of Chhattisgarh. The women of the group will make and sell electricity from cow dung. The government will buy their electricity. In the Rural Industrial Park set up in Gauthan, the machines used to prepare different types of products will also run on the electricity of cow dung. Gothan will now be self-supporting in the matter of electricity. Is. Apart from producing cheap electricity from cow dung, organic manure will also be produced. This would give double benefit to Gauthan Samitis and women self-help groups. The program was also addressed by Home Minister Shri Tamradhwaj Sahu, Agriculture and Water Resources Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey, Parliamentary Secretary Shri Gurudayal Banjare, Bemetara MLA Shri Ashish Chhabra.

It is worth mentioning that under the Suraji Gaon Yojana, Gauthans have been developed in the form of Rural Industrial Parks in about 6 thousand villages of the state of Chhattisgarh. Manure production and other income-oriented activities are being conducted by the women of the group.

 

 

It is worth mentioning that in the first phase of the project of electricity generation from cow dung, power generation units have been set up at Rakhi in Bemetara district, Sikola in Durg and Bancharoda in Raipur district. One unit will produce 85 cubic cubic meters of gas. Since one cubic cubic meter produces 1.8 kilowatts of electricity. With this, 153 kW of electricity will be produced in one unit. In this way, about 460 kW of electricity will be generated from the bio gas genset units installed in the above three Gauthans, which will help villages, Along with lighting arrangements in Gauthans, the machines installed there will be operated. After the generation of electricity from the power generation unit from cow dung, the remaining slurry water will be used for irrigation in the bari and pasture and organic manure will be prepared from the remaining residue. If seen in this way, before cow dung, electricity generation and after that 100% organic manure will be obtained. This will give double benefit to Gauthan committees and women’s groups.

 

It is to be mentioned here that under the Suraji Gaon Yojana of Chhattisgarh Government, 6112 Gauthans are fully constructed and operated in villages. So far, more than 51 lakh quintals of cow dung has been procured in Gauthans, in return for which Rs 102 crore has been paid to the villagers and cattle rearers. So far more than 12 lakh quintals of vermicompost, super compost manure has been produced and sold from cow dung to Gauthan. The convergence of Gauthan and Godhan Nyay Yojana, built under the Suraji Gaon Yojana, has started yielding multi-faceted benefits. Due to this employment opportunities have increased in the villages and the rural economy has got a boost.
