Raipur, 07 November 2020. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel reached Gauthan of village Patora in Patan block of Durg district today. There self-help group women showed them beautiful designer diyas, decorative materials and packets of traditional Chhattisgarhi dishes for the Diwali festival. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also released the booklet of Bihan Bazaar.
The Chief Minister appreciated the quantitative activities conducted by women and the quality of the material produced by them. The Chief Minister said that instead of selling these materials only locally, it should be marketed in other markets and cities. He directed the officers to ensure the marketing and online selling of the products of the women’s groups. Officials said talks are on for the online platform. In order to make these products accessible to more and more people, the fort has been started in Bihan Bazar District Panchayat Complex. In just two days, the sale of 3 lakh rupees has been done in Bihan market.
The Chief Minister asked the women to prepare the items which are in high demand in the market. The Chief Minister asked the officers to give them training in sewing machine. Inspire all groups to manufacture products like incense sticks, phenyl, soap. The effort should be that local SHGs should make more and more products available in the local market. This will open the way to income.
The Chief Minister also saw the production of vermi compost in Gauthan. The Chief Minister asked whether to put a decomposer. Suman, who is associated with the women’s group, said that the use of decomposer reduced the time taken to compost. The Chief Minister said that Gauthans have to be made self-sufficient. The more work you do on the Godhan Nyaya Yojana, the more your income will increase. He also interacted with the hills. The hills told that we have got income from this.
