Raipur, 5 October 2020. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel discussed with Home Minister Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu regarding the tragic incident of farmer death in village Matrodih in Durg district today and took full information of the incident. He asked the Home Minister to provide all possible help to the family members of the deceased farmer. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel has expressed deep condolences to the family members of the bereaved farmers over the incident.
Home Minister Shri Tamradhwaj Sahu reached village Matrodih (Machandur) in Durg district today and met the grieving family members of the deceased farmer Mr. Durgesh Nishad and tied them up. Expressing grief over the incident, Home Minister Shri Sahu said that he would extend all possible help to the father and brother of the deceased farmer Mr. Durgesh Nishad. He also announced a grant of Rs 4 lakh to the family of the deceased.
Mr. Durgesh Nishad’s father was told to the Home Minister Mr. Sahu that his son Durgesh was very sad and upset after the crop was damaged even after spraying pesticide medicine. Durgesh was advised by his father not to get upset and said that all the family members will compensate us for this loss, but he took this sad step.
Mr. Durgesh’s father also told the Home Minister that Durgesh owned one and a half acres of his own land. Apart from this, he also took land in reggae. Taking the matter seriously, the Home Minister directed the officials of the Agriculture Department present on the spot to survey the area and find out the disease caused by the crop. He said that if any new disease is in crop, then farmers should be given timely advice and medicine and treatment should be given.
