Raipur, 18 May 2021. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has assured sympathetic consideration of the proposal to appoint Anganwadi workers and assistants to their family members in cases of death, working as front line workers during the Corona crisis period and lockdown.
Today during the virtual meeting of the cabinet, the Minister of Women and Child Development, Smt. Anila Bhendia, discussed this subject with the Chief Minister Mr. Baghel. He said that during lockdown, Anganwadi workers and assistants are regularly going from house to house distributing ready-to-eat packets to women and children. Along with this, they are also monitoring their health and vaccination. The Chief Minister said that Anganwadi workers and helpers who have worried about the health and nutrition of women and children during the crisis have set an excellent example of service. Mr. Baghel asked the Minister of Women and Child Development, Mrs. Bhendia to submit a proposal in this regard. He assured to consider this proposal sympathetically.
Significantly, Anganwadi centers are currently closed due to corona infection. Despite this, food grains are being distributed regularly to children and women. Anganwadi workers and assistants are encouraging people to get vaccinated for distribution of food items as well as weekly vaccination work to children as per eligibility and to protect them from Kovid.
