Raipur: Chief Minister appreciated the Ramayana-based Patachitra of Odisha artist

State President of Bharati Shramjeevi Patrakar Sangh Nitin Choubey informed the Chief Minister about the features of Patachitra.

A delegation of Bharati Shramjeevi Patrakar Sangh (Chhattisgarh unit) met Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel at his residence office here today. State President Shri Nitin Choubey informed the Chief Minister about the executive of Raipur district. Mr. Baghel congratulated the newly appointed District President Mr. Dilip Sahu, General Secretary Mr. Nadeem Memon, Treasurer Mr. Amit Bagh and all the office bearers on their appointment. State coordinator Mr. Pawan Singh Thakur, membership in-charge Mr. Vicky Panjwani, state representative Mr. Javed Zaidi, Mr. Shubham Verma, Ms. Khushbu Thakre were included in the delegation.
On the occasion, the delegation presented Pattachitra paintings brought from Odisha to the Chief Minister. BSPS State President Shri Nitin Choubey informed the Chief Minister that Raghurajpur is a “Heritage Handicraft Village” in Puri district of Odisha. This village of 160 artist is completely famous for beautiful pattachitra art and paintings on tala patras, they have also received many national awards for painting. This artwork has been created by National Gold Medal awardee painter Shri Gopal Das in 2016. The paper and colors used in the artwork are all natural. The thick paper on which Pattachitra is made is made by mixing the bark of some trees with tamarind seeds. Whereas the white color used in the painting has been prepared by grinding the conch shell. The black color is of Kajal, while other colors are prepared from different types of flowers and leaves of trees. In this unique artwork, the entire Ramayana has been raised through painting.
State Vice President Mr. Sukhnandan Banjare and Treasurer Mr. Gangesh Kumar Dwivedi invited Chief Minister Mr. Baghel to the regional convention of Bharati Shramjeevi Patrakar Sangh.
