Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has appealed to the people of the state, farmers, sarpanchs, village Patels, Gothan committees and officials to do ‘roka-cheka’ in the villages from July 6 to July 17. He said that with the arrival of monsoon, the work of boni and ropa has also started in the villages. In such a situation, the protection of crops is also necessary. Now the time has come for ‘roka-cheka’. ‘Roka-Cheka’ will help protect crops from stray cattle. The Chief Minister urged for ‘Roka-Chheka’ to be done in villages and fodder-water arrangements for cattle in Gauthans.
Chief Minister Mr. Baghel was addressing the program organized for distribution of funds to the beneficiaries of Godhan Nyay Yojana at his residence office here today. He transferred an amount of Rs 18 crore 47 lakh online to the accounts of the beneficiaries of the Godhan Nyaya Yojana. In this amount, Rs 5.05 crore was distributed to Gauthan committees and Rs 5.53 crore to women groups in lieu of 2.52 lakh quintal cow dung purchased from livestock farmers, farmers and landless in Gauthans from June 15 to June 30. Went.
The Chief Minister congratulated the people of the state for the upcoming Hareli festival on 17th of this month. Urging the farmers to increase the area under paddy as well as other Kharif crops, he said that today all the crops are getting good prices in Chhattisgarh. Apart from paddy, farmers should also take other Kharif crops. The Chief Minister said that there will be no shortage of fertilizers and seeds, sufficient quantity of organic fertilizers is also available in our Gothans. On this occasion, he appealed to the farmers to use more and more organic fertilizers and organic pesticides in the Kharif season.
The Chief Minister said that it is raining well in many areas of the state. Planting work has started, there is no need to tell you much about how to select the seeds. Even then I would like to say that keep taking guidance from the Agriculture Department, because the combination of science with experience gives even better results. He said that so far Kharif crop has been sown in 03 lakh 33 thousand hectare in the state. There is a target of sowing in 48 lakh 20 thousand hectare for this season.
The Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarh has been known as the rice bowl. In the last Kharif marketing season, Chhattisgarh had not only contributed the maximum to the central pool, but also had the largest number of farmers from Chhattisgarh among the total farmers who sold paddy across the country. Last year 107 lakh 53 thousand metric tonnes of paddy was purchased. About 24 lakh farmers had sold paddy.
The Chief Minister said that Hareli would be celebrated enthusiastically this year as well. The state government is making special arrangements for the train for the common citizens. Carts will be made and sold by the Forest Department and by self-help groups. Any citizen can buy these vehicles from the Forest Department’s office, C-Mart and Gothans by paying the prescribed fee.
It is noteworthy that including the amount distributed today, Rs 507.14 crore has been paid to the beneficiaries of the Godhan Nyaya Yojana. Out of this, Rs 247.12 crore has been paid to cow dung vendors. So far Rs 244.95 crore has been paid to Gauthan committees and self-help groups. Cow dung is being procured in Chhattisgarh from July 20, 2020, at Rs 2 per kg under the Godhan Nyay Yojana. Till June 30, 2023, 123.56 lakh quintals of cow dung has been procured in Gothans in the state. So far cow dung worth Rs 64.61 crore has been purchased by 5959 self-supporting Gauthans of the state from their own resources. Out of the Rs 5.05 crore released today for the purchase of cow dung, Rs 2.92 crore has been paid by the self-supporting Gothans and Rs 2.13 crore by the Agriculture Department. 5419 Gothans are buying more than 30 quintals of cow dung.
Women’s groups in Gothans have so far earned Rs 158 crore 42 lakh from income-generating activities. There are 17,486 women self-help groups directly associated with Gothans in the state, whose membership is 2,05,817. Electricity and natural paint and other materials are also being produced from purchased cow dung in Gauthans. Apart from this, production of vegetables and mushrooms, poultry, goat, fish farming and animal husbandry as well as various income-oriented activities are being conducted by women groups in Gothans.
