Raipur, 20 December 2021. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey have appealed to the farmers of the state to donate para-donations for the arrangement of cow’s fodder in Gauthans. In his appeal to the farmers, the Chief Minister has said that you all know that Gauthans have been set up in the villages of the state for the protection and promotion of livestock. In these Gauthans, cow fodder and water have been provided free of cost by the Gauthan committees. In order to make adequate arrangements for dry fodder in Gauthans for livestock, farmers are urged to donate paras to the Gauthan committee of their village like last year, instead of burning the paras in the fields after harvesting the paddy. This will make it easier for the committees in arranging fodder for cows. The Chief Minister rewarded the farmer who donated the most para-donations for cow fodder and the Gauthan Management Committee, which collected the most para, at the development block level.
The Chief Minister expressed happiness over the fact that instead of burning the stubble after harvesting paddy, the farmer brothers kept heaps of para in their fields. He has directed the Agriculture Production Commissioner to expeditiously start the campaign to bring all the collectors to the Gauthans by collecting and transporting the paras from the farmers’ fields. The Chief Minister appreciated the work of para collection in Gothans for livestock in Mungeli district and said that para collection should be done in all districts in a similar manner. So far 4 lakh 79 thousand 224 quintals of paddy-para have been collected in the Gauthans of the state. The Chief Minister said that the quantity of para collected so far is not sufficient. In all the districts, it is necessary to do the work of collecting paras on a war footing by the district administration in collaboration with the Agriculture and Livestock Department. The Chief Minister said that harvesting of green fodder has been done by the Forest Department. Along with encouraging farmers to purchase green fodder
