Chhattisgarh ran from Balrampur to Sukma on completion of two years of Bhupesh Sarkar
Run with Chhattisgarh trending throughout the country
Raipur, 13 December 2020. More than one lakh people today participated in the virtual marathon organized on the occasion of the completion of 2 years of Bhupesh Baghel government of Chhattisgarh. People from all 28 districts from Balrampur to Sukma participated in it. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel also attended the event. The time was set for this marathon from 6 am to 11 am, the marathon was continued even after the deadline had passed.
In view of the circumstances of Corona, this special marathon was organized by the Sports and Youth Welfare and Public Relations Department of the state. Unlike the commonly held marathon, participants in this virtual marathon had to upload their running photos or videos on social media following the rules of the Kovidkal, given the Corona-era precautions. The theme of the event – ‘Baat hai abhimana ke, Chhattisgarh swabhimaan ke’ – was set. Photos and videos were requested to be uploaded with the hashtag runwithchhattisgarh. This hashtag trended throughout the day on Facebook and Twitter. 71 thousand people had registered to participate in the event, but by 11 am, more than one lakh people had joined the event.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel started this morning by joining this virtual-marathon. He uploaded his photos on social media while running with a special t-shirt. He said that the people of Chhattisgarh and the self-respect of Chhattisgarh are running with me, you too should run.
State Food Minister Amarjeet Bhagat, School Education Minister Dr. Premasai Singh Tekam, Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, Revenue Minister Mr. Jai Singh Agarwal, Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Anila Bhendia, Excise Minister Mr. Kavasi Lakhma, Rajya Sabha MP Mrs. Chhaya Verma, Several public representatives including Raipur (Rural) MLA Shri Satyanarayana Sharma, Raipur Mayor Shri Ejaz Dhebar participated in the event. In the capital Raipur, Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain and Director General of Police Shri DM Avasthi, Additional Chief Secretary Shri Subrata Sahu, Several administrative officials and employees including Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Shri Rakesh Chaturvedi and Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi also participated in the virtual marathon. There was also good enthusiasm among the common people regarding the event. People from all ages, from children to the elderly, uploaded their photos on social media, playing their part.
