Raipur 24 June 2021. The forest Policy of Chhattisgarh State has been selected as the main attraction in the third edition of ‘London Design Exhibition’ held from June 01 to June 27, for its mutli-dimensional design and vision. Chhattisgarh’s forest policy is now being applauded at the world stage.

This Design Exhibition is being organized at Somerset House in the heart of London. Government of Chhattisgarh is one of the esteemed sponsors of the India Pavilion, London Design Exhibition and Chhattisgarh’s Forest Policy is part of the innovative ideas being showcased at the world’s largest design exhibition. .

It is worth mentioning that Chief Director Nisha Methui Ghosh has selected Chhattisgarh State’s Forest Policy as the main attraction of the exhibition for its multi-dimensional design and vision. This forest policy focuses on promoting and supporting the commercial plantation for timber, through the private sector, farmers, village panchayats and government departments, so as to meet the state’s industrial, furniture, firewood and India’s timber imports. Besides, promotion of greenery in the state under the forest policy will prove beneficial in increasing the forest area and in the prevention of climate issues, ground water level, drought and flood in the state.

It is a matter of great pride for us that Chhattisgarh’s Forest Policy is being recognized at international-level and is being showcased with selected world class innovations. Main objective of Chhattisgarh’s forest policy is to promote afforestation on non-forest lands in the state. Various attractive incentive provisions have been made under this policy to promote green revolution across the state and to achieve the goal of making Chhattisgarh the greenest state of the country.
