The results of the Swachh Survekshan 2020 conducted by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, were declared today on 20 August 2020, in which Chhattisgarh has once again achieved the status of being the cleanest state in the country, beating the big states of the country. . The award was received by the Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel and Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shiv Kumar Dahria from the Chief Minister’s Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Shri Hardeep Singh Puri at the virtual online award distribution ceremony organized by the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry.
These national awards were given for the first time online. During the award distribution, Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel informed the Union Minister Shri Puri about the Godhan Justice Scheme being run in Chhattisgarh and procurement of cow dung. The Union Minister Shri Puri praised Chhattisgarh’s Godhan Nyaya Yojana and Gobar Purchase Scheme as a good commercial model of ‘West to Wealth’ and described it as exemplary for other states. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that it will be our endeavor that Chhattisgarh should remain first in the clean survey next year. He told the Union Minister that manure is being made from waste in Chhattisgarh. Vermi compost is being prepared by purchasing it at the rate of two rupees per kg. Dung from the muck has been banned in villages and cities. Villages and cities have become more clean. The Chief Minister said that this scheme has been implemented in villages as well as urban areas. Dung is being purchased in 377 dung procurement centers set up in urban areas of the state. This scheme has also increased the income of the people. Union Minister Shri Puri congratulated Chief Minister Mr. Baghel and Urban Development Minister Dr. Dahria for their excellent performance in the clean survey in Chhattisgarh.
Chhattisgarh has performed excellently as a state in the Swachh Survekshan 2020, along with it has gained national fame in many cities, big and small. Patan Nagar Panchayat has got the status of being the cleanest city of the country in less than 25 thousand population category. Similarly, Jashpurnagar has got a population of 25 to 50 thousand, Dhamtari has a population of 50 thousand to 01 lakh and Ambikapur has got the status of the cleanest cities in the population range of 01 to 10 lakh.
Besides, Bhilai ranks 34 in 10 other cities of the state, Bhilai-Charoda rank-02 in a population of 50 thousand to 01 lakh, Chirmiri rank-03, Birgaon rank-04, Kawardha rank-02 in the population of 25 to 50 thousand. , Champa rank-05, Akaltara rank-74, Narharpur rank-02 Saragaon rank-03 and Pipariya rank-04 in less than 25 thousand population category. On this occasion, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahria congratulated the urban bodies and the people of the state, and called on them to continue their cooperation in the same way.
In order to make the state number one in cleanliness, there was an unprecedented contribution of Swachhta Diksha, Sanitation Commandos, officers and employees working in all cities. Along with this, the people of Chhattisgarh also played an important role in the survey this time through public participation. The citizens of the state were made aware through various schemes run by the department such as Mission Clean City, Cleanliness Makeup, Facility 24, FSTP Management, Diagnostics 1100 and wide publicity and the urban people of Chhattisgarh contributed their significant contribution to the state. Reached the pinnacle of cleanliness. The Clean Survey 2020 was different from previous Clean Surveys in many ways. This time, 6000 marks were prescribed for the cleanliness test, in which the state of Chhattisgarh has done excellently, once again achieving the title of the best state in the country. With this, Chhattisgarh also achieved the status of being the first ODF plus state in the country.
Chhattisgarh also won the title of garbage free city in star rating
The entire Chhattisgarh survey was conducted by the Government of India for a clean survey. In the survey, first ODF plus plus survey of the entire Chhattisgarh was done. After ODF Plus Plus, survey of garbage free city (star rating) and clean survey of entire Chhattisgarh was done. After the survey, Chhattisgarh was declared ODF plus plus state by the Government of India. Chhattisgarh became the first state in India to have ODF Plus Plus. Chhattisgarh has also won the garbage free city (star rating). Ambikapur, a city in Chhattisgarh was given 5 star city status and 9 cities got 3 star and 5 cities got 1 star city status by the Government of India. Secretary, Urban Administration Department, Chhattisgarh, Ms. Alarmalmangai D., Additional CEO of SUDA Soumil Ranjan Choubey and Advisor Dr. Nitesh Sharma were also present at the Chief Minister’s residence during the award ceremony.
◆ Swachh Survekshan 2020 – The entire Chhattisgarh with ODF and Garbage Free City performed fiercely in the Swachh Survekshan – Chhattisgarh prepares for this in the grand competition –
★ 100% door to door garbage collection – Every day garbage collection is done by 166 bodies of Chhattisgarh from every house. 100 marks were set by the Government of India for this task.
★ Segregation of dry and wet garbage from home – All 166 bodies collect waste from home and transport it to the processing plant. For this, 125 marks were set by the Government of India.
★ Monitoring through online method – Monitoring of entire 166 bodies working from door to door garbage collection vehicles and all Sanitation Didi, Safai Mitra through online method, 40 marks were set by the Government of India for this task.
★ Waste Picker – Junk pickers were given employment in Chhattisgarh by incorporating them in Mission Clean City Scheme of the body. All the West Pickers included in the scheme were linked with ration card, Aadhaar card and life insurance and other government benefits. 65 marks were set by the Government of India for this task.
★ Sweeping twice a day – In all 166 bodies, sweeping of the morning and night carpet is done twice daily. 50 marks were set by the Government of India for this task.
◆ Plastic waste management – Plastic has been banned in the entire 166 bodies. The bodies have been fined from time to time for using plastic. Plastic seizure work is done in full swing, 30 marks were fixed for this work.
★ 3R Principal Reduce, Reuse and Recycle – Through all 166 bodies, did innovative work like Reduce, Reuse, Recyclable wall for Recycling, Pot bank, Food bag, Home composting. 50 marks were prescribed for this work.
★ 100% disposal of waste from households – 100% disposal of garbage from house to house waste collection by all 166 bodies is taken to SLRM center. A total of 380 marks were prescribed for this work.
★ Disposal of Construction and Demolition Wastes – Disposal of debris coming out of houses is done 100 percent by all 166 bodies. Construction of paver blocks, pottery, bricks etc. is being done by the bodies from C&D waste. 50 marks were prescribed for this work.
★ Suvidha 24 toilets – Community cum public toilets have been constructed in place for the convenience of citizens in all 166 bodies. The sewage coming out of the toilets is treated with 100% scientific method. The excreted sewage is transported through de-sludging vehicle to sewerage treatment plant / faecal sludge treatment plant and 100% treatment is done. For this task, 500 marks were fixed by the Government of India.
★ Behavior Change and Publicity Dissemination – Sanitation competition between mohallas, hospitals, markets, government buildings, hospitals, schools, hotels was organized by all bodies at their respective body level. The cleaning campaign was carried out from time to time by the body. To make the citizens aware, wall painting related to cleanliness was done at various places. The people of India were made aware of hygiene by putting a banner poster related to cleanliness. 160 marks were set by the Government of India for this task.
★ Capacity Development – All the entities related to cleanliness are purchased online through Gem portal. All the localities at the civic level are constantly being carried out by all the bodies to reduce the amount of garbage in the residential area such as home composting, goodness wall, utensil bank. For this task, 60 marks were set by the Government of India.
◆ Innovation and Innovation Efforts – Different innovative initiatives were taken by all bodies and citizens on the subject of cleanliness. These innovative initiatives are constantly being done by the body and the citizens of the body. A total of 80 marks were prescribed for this work.
◆ Cleanliness App – The complaints received by all the urban bodies on the Cleanliness App are resolved within 100% time frame. A total of 400 marks were set by the Government of India to resolve the complaints received in the Cleanliness App. A total of 6000 marks were set in the Swachh Survekshan 2020. A total of 6 categories were prescribed for this 6000 mark, the details of which are as follows –
- 1500 points for direct observation
- 1500 points for citizen feedback
- 1500 marks for certification – 1000 marks for Garbage Free City and 500 marks for ODF Plus Plus.
- 1300 marks were set for service level process and 200 marks for Swachh Survekshan League.
