Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai laid the foundation stone of AI Data Center Park of M/s Rack Bank in Sector-22 of Nava Raipur Atal Nagar on Saturday. The Chief Minister said that due to the new industrial policy, industries are coming from the country and abroad for establishment in a short time, if this pace continues, then very soon a developed Chhattisgarh and developed India will be created. This year is the silver jubilee year of the establishment of Chhattisgarh, our effort will be to inaugurate the data center on the foundation day this year.
Chief Minister Shri Sai, while congratulating and wishing the management of M/s Rack Bank, which is going to establish the AI Data Centre, said that the AI Data Centre has brought a big revolution in the field of information and technology for Chhattisgarh. This will materialise the mantra of Jai Vigyan, Jai Anusandhan of our illustrious Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and will become the foundation of developed Chhattisgarh.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Chhattisgarh, the country’s growth engine, is known for its coal, steel, iron ore, energy. Now we are getting global recognition from AI, semiconductor and software industry. Reiterating the resolve for a developed Chhattisgarh, he said that we are building such a Chhattisgarh where the youth will manufacture semiconductors and also provide AI services. AI data center will promote AI based services in the state. Along with industry and business world, its direct benefit will be seen in improving the standard of living of the people.
Referring to the AI mission of the Central Government, the Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Central Government had approved the India AI Mission last year. We are proud that within a year we have done concrete work on Modi ji’s vision regarding AI. Today many industries are operated by data. After the mobile revolution, now is the era of AI. AI is affecting every sphere of our life. In such a situation, Chhattisgarh’s AI revolution will become a model for the country. The establishment of AI data center will strengthen everything whether it is education, medicine, entertainment or production in factories.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the establishment of AI data center will provide direct employment to more than 500 people. When an industry is set up, many other employment opportunities are also created. This AI data center established by M/s Rack Bank has a capacity of 5 MW. An investment of about one thousand crore rupees will be made in this entire project. Graphics processing units will be installed in the AI data center. This will also promote computer infrastructure running on AI, semiconductor manufacturing. He said that we are developing Nava Raipur as an IT Medicity and Pharmaceutical Hub.
On the decision taken in the cabinet to promote digital skills, the Chief Minister said that just two days ago, our cabinet has allotted about 10 acres of land free of cost to the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) for setting up a State of Art NIELIT in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar to promote digital skills. Be it the Bhoomi Pujan for the AI Data Center today or the foundation stone laying of the Semiconductor Manufacturing Unit a few days ago. This shows how our government is moving from Ease of Doing Business to Speed of Business.
Just a few months ago, we came up with a new industrial policy. See the magic of this new policy, in five months, the state has received an investment of more than four and a half lakh crore rupees. The AI data center whose foundation we are laying today on this land of Nava Raipur has been possible due to the new industrial policy. Because now investors do not have to run around different departments to set up industries in the state. Whether it is to set up a big industry in the state or to start a startup, approvals from many government departments are obtained with just one click. Through the new industrial policy, we have set a target of creating about four lakh new jobs in the next five years.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that our state can lead the country in the field of knowledge based economy. We have excellent institutes related to IT and engineering. Along with NIT, AI based courses are now being taught in the ITI of the state. Availability of electricity is very important for AI data center projects. Fortunately, our state is a power plus state. Solar energy will also be used extensively in this project by M/s Rack Bank. In such a situation, this first AI data center of the state will become a model in the country. Recently, I got the opportunity to participate in investor meets in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore. Industrialists from all over the country are now eager to invest in Chhattisgarh. AI data center will accelerate the development of Chhattisgarh and provide a global platform to the abilities of young talents.
On this occasion, Industry Minister Mr. Lakhan Lal Devangan, Finance Minister Mr. OP Choudhary, CSIDC Chairman Mr. Rajiv Aggarwal, Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary Mr. Subodh Singh, Industry Secretary Mr. Rajat Kumar were present.
