‘National Ramayana Festival’ from 01 to 03 June at Ramlila Maidan, Raigad

The coming month of Chhattisgarh is going to be auspicious. National Ramayana Festival is being organized at Ramlila Maidan in Raigarh from 01 to 03 June. The preparations for the festival are being done in full swing by the Culture Department. The festival will have special presentation of Ramayana Gatha focusing on Aranya Kand. It is believed that Lord Shri Ram spent most of his time in Dandakaranya in Chhattisgarh during his exile. Ramgatha will also be staged in an attractive form by foreign artists in the festival.

Officials of the Culture Department said that along with Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Kerala, Goa, Assam, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, about 10 states are going to participate in the National Ramayana Festival to be held at Ramlila Maidan in Raigarh. . Along with this, specially attractive staging of Ramayana will be done by foreign Ramayana artists. It is noteworthy that the tradition of staging Ramlila is alive in South Asian countries as well, teams from those countries will also participate in the Ramayana festival.  

In this grand event of three days, there will also be presentations of big national level artists every day. Indian Idol fame Shamukh Priya and Saregaam fame Sharad Sharma will participate on June 1. On the other hand, on June 2, there will be musical performances by famous singers Baba Hansraj Raghuvanshi and Lakhbir Singh Lakkha. On June 3, the stream of Ram devotion will flow with the performance of popular bhajan singer Maithili Thakur and country’s famous poet Kumar Vishwas.

On the special initiative of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, the state government is developing the historical places of the state related to the journey of Lord Shri Ram during his exile period in the form of tourism under the Ram-Van-Gaman Tourism Circuit Project. From Surguja to Bastar, wherever Lord Shri Ram’s feet are lying, those places are being developed in the form of tourism.
