Raipur, 03 August 2021. A courtesy call on Governor Ms. Anusuiya Uikey was held at Raj Bhavan here today by a delegation led by the President of Chhattisgarh State Co-operative Fisheries Federation, Maryadit Raipur, Shri Ramkrishna Dhiwar. He submitted a memorandum to the Governor regarding his problems.
Shri Dhiwar informed that free accident insurance of fishermen is provided by the Central Government under the Pradhan Mantri Sampada Yojana for the poor fishermen. The fishermen are not getting the full benefit of this insurance. He urged to get the benefit of the said insurance scheme. He said that fish farming has also been given the status of agriculture by the Government of India but fishermen are not getting it. He requested that just as farmers get benefits from the Union Ministry of Agriculture, fish farmers should also get benefits in the same way. Along with this, he also urged to establish a fishery college in village Demar of Dhamtari district. Shri Santosh Dhiwar, Shri Dharmendra Dhivar, Shri Ghasia Dhivar, Shri Jayaprakash, Shri Krishna Hirwani and Shri Novan Dhivar were present on the occasion.
