Raipur: ‘Chhattisgarh Model’ praised: Chairman of Apex Bank informed about Chhattisgarh’s justice schemes including rural development works

National Meeting of Customer Advisory Committee  at Bankers Institute of Rural Development, Kolkata

The Chhattisgarh model once again dominated Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. Representatives of cooperative banks from different states described the ‘Chhattisgarh model’ as exemplary for development. Chairman of Chhattisgarh Apex Bank Mr. Baijnath Chandrakar gave detailed information about the justice schemes being run in Chhattisgarh and the efforts being made to strengthen the rural economy. Representatives of 15 states attended the meeting of the National Consumer Advisory Committee. 

Referring to the ‘Chhattisgarh model’, Mr. Baijnath Chandrakar said in the meeting that the development of villages, development of farmers, development of agricultural laborers, development of tribals, development of women and other agriculture-related activities ( Allied) has continued to grow. Effective implementation of policies, programs and schemes giving relief to the farmers was done. Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, Go-Dhan Nyay Yojana, Rajiv Gandhi Rural Landless Agricultural Laborer Justice Yojana and purchase of 65 types of forest produce at support price have brought prosperity in the villages. The rural economy has strengthened. 

Farmers of Chhattisgarh are being given interest-free agricultural loans from co-operative banks according to their requirement. 725 new primary agricultural credit societies have been formed by reorganizing the primary agricultural credit cooperative societies. Basic resources were made available to these committees. Chhattisgarh has set a new record in crop production by providing electricity connections, subsidized and free electricity to farmers for irrigation pumps. This year, 107.53 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased from 23 lakh farmers in Chhattisgarh at the support price. For this, a payment of Rs 21 thousand 946 crore was directly transferred to the bank accounts of the farmers by the Government of Chhattisgarh through co-operative banks. Chhattisgarh is moving forward with prosperity and prosperity. 

In the meeting, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Apex Bank Mr. Chandrakar while discussing the role and importance of banks in giving impetus to the rural economy, said that customer service is paramount. NABARD CGM Mumbai, NABARD CGM West Bengal, BIRD Director Mr. Malik ji and Director of Bankers Rural Institute Kolkata Mrs. Archana Singh were present in the meeting of the National Consumer Advisory Committee.
