Chhattisgarh has registered its name in golden letters in the Golden Book of World Records for the performance of Setubandha Asana. Today, more than 2000 yoga practitioners from all over the state, at the Late Balbir Juneja Indoor Stadium in Budhapara, capital Raipur, collectively performed the Setubandha Asana for a world record, forming a pattern of the tricolor.

In his congratulatory message on this achievement, Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has said that ‘As long as Chhattisgarh does yoga, it will remain healthy’. He said that Setubandha Asana connects the mind and body under the bridge. Dr. Manish Vishnoi, Asia Head of Golden Book of World Records, announced the creation of the record and presented a provisional certificate to Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission.

छत्तीसगढ़ योग आयोग द्वारा लोगों को योग के महत्व के प्रति जागरूक करने और स्वस्थ जीवन शैली के लिए प्रेरित करने के उद्देश्य से आयोजित इस कार्यक्रम में श्री प्रदीप शर्मा ने कहा कि छत्तीसगढ़ योग आयोग द्वारा गोल्डन बुक ऑफ वर्ल्ड रिकॉॅर्ड में नाम दर्ज कराना एक ऐतिहासिक उपलब्धि है। श्री ज्ञानेश शर्मा ने कहा कि मुख्यमंत्री श्री भूपेश बघेल ने लोगों के स्वास्थ को प्राथमिकता में रखते हुए छत्तीसगढ़ योग आयोग को महती जिम्मेदारी सौंपी। इसे पूरा करते हुए आयोग द्वारा प्रदेश में लगभग 50 नियमित निःशुल्क योगाभ्यास केन्द्र शुरू किये गए हैं। सभी संभागों के योगसाधकों में प्रशिक्षण देकर गांव-गांव तक योग का प्रचार किया जा रहा है।
Parliamentary Secretary Shri Vikas Upadhyay while congratulating said that Yoga keeps the body, mind and wealth safe. As per the wish of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, giving priority to the health of common citizens, free yoga centers have been opened in more than 90 percent wards of his constituency. Dr. Kiranmayi Nayak said that all the yoga practitioners should teach yoga to 10 people each. Next year, huge numbers will set all records once again.

In the group yoga practice program, along with Setubandha Asana, other asanas, pranayama and meditation were also practiced. In the program, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Housing Board Mr. Kuldeep Juneja, Vice President of Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Mrs. Chitrarekha Sahu, members of Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission Mr. Rajesh Nara, Mr. Ravindra Singh, Mr. Ganesh Yogi, President of Sanskrit Vidyamandalam Dr. Suresh Sharma, IG Mr. Ratanlal. Dangi, Prajapita Brahma Kumari Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya, along with a large number of yoga instructors and devotees and a large number of common citizens were present.
