Raipur, 20 August 2020. MP Mr. Rahul Gandhi has said that Chhattisgarh is the leading state in the implementation of schemes to help farmers, poor, tribals and needy people. He praised the work being done by the state government for the welfare and betterment of all the classes in the state of Chhattisgarh and congratulated the ministers including the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel for this. On the occasion of the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna late Shri Rajiv Gandhi at the Chief Minister’s residence office here today, Mr. Rahul Gandhi for the transfer of Rs. Were addressing through video conferencing.
MP Shri Rahul Gandhi further said that our government is a government protecting the interests of farmers, poor, tribals, laborers. The state government is working for the betterment of these classes in the state of Chhattisgarh. He said that we protect the interests of farmers, poor, tribals, laborers, because we understand that these are the people who take India forward. The country cannot go ahead without protecting their interests. He said that at present, there are two economies in the country, an organized economy, which includes big companies, the second unorganized economy, in which there are farmers, laborers, small shopkeepers and millions of poor people. Our governments work in a balance between the two economies.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said in his address that we are moving towards realizing the dreams of Rajiv ji by helping farmers, villagers, laborers and tribals in the state through various schemes and programs. Former Chief Minister of undivided Madhya Pradesh Shri Motilal Vora, Rajya Sabha MP Shri PL Punia also attended the ceremony online.
At the commencement of the function, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel and the Ministers, the former Prime Minister, self. Wreathed the oil paintings of Shri Rajiv Gandhi and bowed to him. Mr. Baghel said that the amount being transferred today includes 1500 crores of second installment of Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyaya Yojana, Rs. 4 crore 50 lakhs of Godan Nyaya Yojana and Rs. 232.81 crores of incentive remuneration of Tendupatta collectors. The Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana was launched on 21 May 2020 on the occasion of the martyrdom of Mr. Rajiv Gandhi. On the same day, 1500 crores of the first installment were directly transferred to the accounts of 19 lakh farmers. Under this scheme of Chhattisgarh Government, farmers are being given an exchange of Rs. 5750 crore in four installments.
The Chief Minister said that under the Godan Nyaya Yojana, the state government is procuring cow dung at the rate of Rs. 2 per kg. The scheme was started on July 20, the day of the Hareli festival. It was decided to pay the dung being purchased under the scheme within 15-15 days. Today, another payment of Rs 4 crore 50 lakh has been made to 77 thousand 97 cow dung villagers and cattle rearers. Earlier on August 5, an amount of Rs 01 crore 65 lakh was paid to the dung vendors under this scheme. The Chief Minister said that vermicompost compost will be made from cow dung being purchased in Gothans. For this self-help groups are also being trained. The income of the villagers will increase with the Godhan Nyaya Yojana. As of August 15, more than 03 lakh quintals worth of 06 crore 17 lakh dung have been purchased in the state.
Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that the government government is giving utmost importance to the Godhan Nyaya Yojana. He said that when the scheme was introduced, cow dung was being purchased in only 2400 Gothanas. Within a month, cow dung is being purchased in 4400 Gothans today. He said that more than 71 percent of the landless villagers comprise of cow dung in the Gothans. The Chief Minister said that the Godhan Nyaya Yojana is a scheme to increase employment. We are developing Gouthans as livelihood centers. An acre of land has been reserved for industrial activities, where small industry businesses can be operated according to local conditions.
The Chief Minister said that the Godhan Nyay Yojana will promote conservation and promotion of animals, environmental hygiene, increase income of cow farmers, ban on crop grazing and organic farming. He said that as per the dream of former Prime Minister late Smt. Indira Gandhiji, Chhattisgarh has started to move towards the White Revolution through this scheme. He said that this is a revolutionary plan. The villagers have taken it as their own plan.
A remuneration of crores of rupees was disbursed. This has led to a 60 percent increase in the income of 12 lakh tendu leaf collectors. He said that we have kept the promise of purchasing Tendupatta at the rate of Rs 4000 per standard bag. Referring to the martyr Mahendra Karma Tendupatta Collectors Social Security Scheme launched by the state government for Tendupatta collectors, the Chief Minister said that through this the collectors will get benefits like insurance scheme. He said that in case of accident and death, the amount would be paid to the aggrieved collector families within a month, whereas under the earlier insurance scheme, it used to take a year to settle the case.
