Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel paid tribute to former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna late Mr. Rajiv Gandhi on his death anniversary

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has paid tribute to former Prime Minister of India Bharat Ratna late Mr. Rajiv Gandhi on his death anniversary on May 21. Mr. Baghel has said in his message that late Mr. Rajiv Gandhi has contributed significantly in the development and innovation of the country. Rajiv ji took over the reins of the country as a young Prime Minister. Due to his innovative and visionary youth thinking, information revolution came in India which gave a new pace and direction to the country. As an effect of his initiative, today we are able to see the present form of e-governance and transparency in government work. The foundation of Digital India was laid during the tenure of Rajiv ji.
The Chief Minister said that Rajiv ji played an important role in strengthening the foundation of the country by empowering Panchayati Raj institutions and urban bodies. He reduced the voting age from 21 to 18 and gave the youth the right to vote. By promoting science and technology, he opened new avenues for industries in the country. In fact, Rajiv ji was a dreamer of modern India. He said that Rajiv ji had a deep attachment to Chhattisgarh. He closely observed the tribal culture and residents here, got to know and worked for their development. His brief stay in Kulhadighat, a tribal area of ​​Gariaband district, in 1985 is still etched in people’s memories. At the same time he traveled to Dugli in Dhamtari district, which is now also known as Rajiv Gram.
Mr. Baghel said that Rajiv ji dreamed of inclusive development and formulated many policies for it. Following his footsteps, the Chhattisgarh government is also working for the development of everyone from Antyodaya to entrepreneurs. The ‘Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana’ was launched by the state government in the year 2020 on the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Late Shri Rajiv Gandhi. Under this, agricultural input subsidy (input subsidy) of Rs 9 thousand per acre is being transferred directly to the accounts of more than 24 lakh farmers of the state. Similarly, the Rajiv Gandhi Landless Agricultural Laborer Justice Scheme has been started to provide relief to the people working as agricultural laborers in farming. Under this scheme, landless agricultural laborers are being given an amount of Rs 7 thousand annually in their bank accounts.
The Chief Minister said that Rajiv ji did not succumb to terrorism and did not even care about his life for the country. In his honor and to pay tribute to him, his death anniversary, 21 May, is celebrated as Anti-Terrorism Day across the country. By ending the roots of terrorism, naxalism and corruption, everyone’s resolve and work for the development of the country and the state will be a true tribute to Rajiv ji.
