Raipur 19 July 2021. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel attended the birth anniversary celebrations of Dr. Khubchand Baghel, a freedom fighter and the first dreamer of Chhattisgarh state formation, from his residence office here today. The program was organized by the Department of Archeology and Culture in the auditorium of Mahant Ghasidas Memorial Museum. On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Baghel paid homage to the portrait of Dr. Khubchand Baghel and honored his family members, the successors of freedom fighters by presenting them with shawls, shriphal and insignia.

Addressing the birth anniversary celebrations, Chief Minister Shri Baghel said that the personality and creativity of Dr. Khubchand Baghel was multifaceted. His life was filled with the feeling of patriotism and he was the first dreamer of Chhattisgarh state formation. With the aim of fulfilling the interest of every Chhattisgarhia, the creation of Chhattisgarh was his great goal. He was a skilled politician as well as a litterateur, social reformer and freedom fighter. He said that the life journey of Dr. Khubchand Baghel was full of hard struggle. They are injustice in the society, He fought throughout his life against tyranny and exploitation. He also rejected the discrimination of high and low in the society and gave the important slogan of ‘Take row – jodo society’ to unite the society. In this way, he continued to serve Chhattisgarh till the end of his life by joining many creative and farmer and labor friendly activities. His contribution can never be forgotten in Chhattisgarh and it will always remain in the memory of the people.

Apart from this, the purchase number of minor forest produce on minimum support price in the state has been increased from 7 to 52 at present.
