Raipur 14 August 2021. State Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has said that villages have to be made prosperous to make Chhattisgarh prosperous. Along with improving the condition of villagers, farmers, laborers, folk art and culture will have to be preserved. He said that our government is strengthening the rural system. This is a true tribute to late Devi Prasad, a strong representative of Gandhian and rural system.
Chief Minister Shri Baghel was addressing the 21st Vasundhara Samman ceremony organized in the memory of Late Devi Prasad Choubey on behalf of Lok Jagran Patrika at his residence office here today. The function was organized in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Shri Chaturbhuj Memorial Foundation. On the occasion, the Chief Minister honored well-known litterateur and journalist Mr. Satish Jaiswal with the 21st Vasundhara Samman by presenting him a citation, shawl and shriphal. He inaugurated the 58th issue of ‘Vasundhara’, the monthly magazine of public awareness and the 109th issue of ‘Bahumat’, a monthly magazine of art, literature and culture.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel further said that Late Shri Devi Prasad Choubey ji was an ideologically firm and religious person. He played a leading role in the prevention of social evils, especially the practice of sacrifice in the Mahamaya temple at Deurgaon. The Chief Minister further said that Chhattisgarh government is making efforts for better facilities of employment, education and health in the villages. He said that due to Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, people’s interest towards farming and village has increased. In two-and-a-half years, the number of farmers has increased from 15 lakh to 22 lakh and the area under cultivation has increased from 22 lakh hectare to 27 lakh hectare. To help the landless families of rural areas, an annual assistance of Rs 6,000 will be given through the Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Bhumiless Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana. Animal husbandry and dairy have started getting a boost from the Godhan Nyay Yojana.
The Chief Minister said that the economic condition of the people of Vananchal has improved due to increase in the collection rate of tendu leaves and purchase of 52 minor forest produce. Giving the example of Dantewada district, he said that so far this year 133 tractors have been sold in Dantewada. In the last two-and-a-half years, about 400 tractors have been bought by the farmers there. There has also been a manifold increase in the purchase of motorcycles in Dantewada.
The Culture Minister, Shri Amarjit Bhagat, presiding over the program, said that he congratulated and congratulated the writer Shri Satish Jaiswal for the Vasundhara Samman. The keynote speaker of the function, Dr. Himanshu Dwivedi said that the truth and reliability of information is a big challenge in the present era. False facts are being propagated on social media. In such a situation, it is the responsibility of the journalistic establishments to tell the truth of the true news and the news going on in social media. Senior journalist Shri Ramesh Nayyar also addressed the program. Journalist and litterateur Shri Satish Jaiswal said that literature and journalism have gone together in Indian writing. Vasundhara Samman is taking both the streams together. He appreciated the efforts of the Chief Minister to revive the rural system, culture and folk art.
Late Shri Deviprasad Choubey’s son Shri Pradeep Choubey and Agriculture and Water Resources Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey, Chairperson of Women’s Commission Dr. Kiranmayi Nayak, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission Shri Gyanesh Sharma, Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Farmers Welfare Board Shri Surendra Sharma, Chhattisgarh Neeta Lodhi, Vice-Chairman of State Entrepreneur Cooperative Finance Corporation, President of Chhattisgarh State Weavers Cooperative Federation, Motilal Devangan, Convener of Vasundhara Samman Shri Vinod Mishra, President of Organizing Committee Shri Arun Shrivastava, Secretary Shri Mumtaz were also present.
