Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel announced in the interest of millet producing farmers

Agriculture Department issued a notification immediately implementing the Chief Minister’s announcement of increase in support price of Kodo by Rs. 200 and support price of Kutki by Rs. 250.

The support price of Kodo was increased from Rs 3000 per quintal to Rs 3200 per quintal and the support price of Kutki was increased from Rs 3100 per quintal to Rs 3350 per quintal.

Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel today made a big announcement in the interest of millets producing farmers in the program of distribution of funds to the beneficiaries of Godhan Nyay Yojana. He announced increase in the support price of Kodo and Kutki. Shri Baghel announced to increase the support price of Kodo from Rs 3000 per quintal to Rs 3200 per quintal and the support price of Kutki from Rs 3100 per quintal to Rs 3350 per quintal for Kharif 2023.

 The Chief Minister said that the Central Government does not declare the support price of Kodo and Kutki. The State Government had several times requested the Center to declare the support price of Kodo and Kutki but it was not announced by the Central Government. Therefore, with the aim of encouraging the millets producing farmers of Chhattisgarh, the support price of Kodo-Kutki is being declared by the state government.

Chief Minister Mr. Baghel announced to increase the support price of Kodo, which was Rs 3000 per quintal in the year 2022-23, to Rs 3200 per quintal for Kharif 2023 and to increase the support price of Kutki, which was Rs 3100 per quintal, to Rs 3350 per quintal.

Quick implementation of Chief Minister’s announcement-

With immediate effect on the announcement of increase in the support price of Kodo-Kutki by Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel this evening, regarding the increase in the minimum support price of Kodo and Kutki produced in Kharif 2023 by the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Biotechnology Department of Chhattisgarh Government. Notification has been issued. In the notification, the minimum procurement price of Kodo produced in Kharif 2023 has been set at Rs 3200 per quintal and the minimum procurement price of Kutki at Rs 3350 per quintal. Ragi crop will be procured as per the minimum support price of Rs 3846 per quintal declared by the Government of India for Kharif 2023. The procurement period will be decided by the Forest Department. Kodo-Kutki and Ragi will be procured through Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce Association.

Transfer of amount to the accounts of the beneficiaries of Godhan Nyay Yojana-

Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel today transferred Rs 9.65 crore to the accounts of the beneficiaries of Godhan Nyay Yojana. This amount includes Rs 4.93 crore to cow dung sellers, Rs 1.45 crore to Gauthan committees, Rs 1.14 crore as dividend to self-help groups and an honorarium of Rs 2.26 crore to Gauthan committee members. Including the amount distributed today, Rs 588.83 crore has been paid to the beneficiaries under Godhan Nyay Yojana.

The Chief Minister said that this year the procurement of paddy will start from November 1 and all preparations for this have been completed by the state government. He said that this year we have set a target of purchasing 130 lakh metric tonnes of paddy, it is hoped that we will definitely achieve this target. Last year we had purchased 107 lakh 53 thousand metric tons of paddy, this year we will create a new record of paddy purchase. This year also the people of Chhattisgarh are going to celebrate Dussehra-Diwali vigorously. Mr. Baghel said that the installments of Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana are also being paid on time. Recently, on September 28, the third installment of the scheme has also been paid. So far, more than two and a quarter lakh crore rupees have been paid to the beneficiaries under the NYAY schemes.

Till now 138.26 quintals of cow dung has been purchased in Gauthans –

The Chief Minister said that till now 138.26 quintals of cow dung has been purchased in Gauthans, in return for which Rs 276.53 crore has been paid to the animal rearing farmers so far. Similarly, Rs 280.04 crore has been paid to Gauthan committees and women self-help groups. Under this scheme, an additional incentive bonus of about Rs 30 crore has also been paid to women self-help groups in 2 installments so far. The Chief Minister said that the participation of Gauthan Committee in the matter of cow dung procurement under the Godhan Nyay Yojana is continuously increasing. 6453 self-reliant Gauthans have so far purchased cow dung worth Rs 83 crore with their own money.

Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey also addressed the program. On this occasion, Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, Urban Administration and Development Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahria, Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Anila Bhendia, Industry Minister Mr. Kawasi Lakhma, Food Minister Mr. Amarjeet Bhagat, Tribal Development Minister Mr. Mohan Markam, Additional Chief Secretary Shri Subrata Sahu, Agriculture Production Commissioner Dr. Kamalpreet Singh and senior officials were present.
