Raipur, 21 September 2021. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that Godhan Nyay Yojana of Chhattisgarh is moving ahead by setting new dimensions of success. The state of Chhattisgarh has become an example in the field of cow service, cow protection and cow promotion in the whole country. Just as the cow is called Kamdhenu, similarly Godhan Nyay Yojana is also a Kamdhenu-yojana. Godhan Nyay Yojana is the blessings of the cow mother for us. In a program organized at his residence office here today, Shri Baghel transferred a total amount of 5 crore 24 lakhs to the cattle farmers, Gauthan committees and self-help groups in their bank accounts under the Godhan Nyay Yojana.
The Chief Minister said that it is a matter of great happiness that the benefits of the seemingly simple Godhan Nyay Yojana are extraordinary. It is not just a scheme to buy cow dung and sell it as manure, but through this scheme on women empowerment, entrepreneurship development, increase in farmers income, agricultural land reforms, increase in productivity, reduction in farm cost, livestock development, open grazing Many goals are being achieved including prevention, crop protection, increase in milk production. The Chief Minister said that 51.27 lakh quintals of cow dung has been procured so far in the state, against which Rs 102.54 crore has been paid to the dung vendors. He said that 6 lakh 11 thousand 547 quintals of vermi compost and 01 lakh 66 thousand 370 quintals of super compost have been sold. He said that pastures are being developed for arrangement of green fodder in all the Gauthans. Fodder plantation and sowing have been completed in 4 thousand 744 Gauthans, whose total area is 10 thousand 838 acres. Agriculture Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey said that Gauthans are being constructed at a rapid pace in the villages where Gauthans have not been made yet. He said that apart from making vermi compost, other allied economic activities should also be encouraged in the Rural Industrial Park being built in Gauthan. Agriculture Production Commissioner Dr. Kamalpreet Singh informed that the number of approved Gauthans in the state has now gone up to 10 thousand 113. Out of these, 06 thousand 170 Gothans are built and active. 01 lakh 79 thousand 237 cattle breeders are being benefited from these gotans. A total of Rs 57 crore 43 lakh as dividend and payment has been distributed to Self Help Groups and Gothan Samitis. Among the people who are benefiting from this scheme, 45 percent are women and 79 thousand 435 landless farmers. Among the beneficiaries are 48.10 percent of Other Backward Classes, 40.58 percent of Scheduled Tribes, 07.82 percent of Scheduled Castes. This scheme has become a strong medium of economic empowerment of the weaker and backward sections of the society.
