Dr. Shukla told that during the Holi festival, people have to face many health-related problems due to carelessness in eating and drinking along with color-gulal. Most of the colors and gulal sold in the market these days are chemical and synthetic, which are many times harmful to the eyes and skin. That’s why special care needs to be taken in the selection of color and Abir.
Dr. Shukla told that many plants including Tesu, from which natural colors and gulal are made, also have medicinal properties. As a result, apart from being safe for the skin and eyes, they are also beneficial in skin diseases. Nowadays, aromatherapy means treatment with fragrance is also in vogue, so the mind becomes happy with the fragrance of color and gulal, which doubles the enthusiasm of Holi. Apart from this, colors and gulal are made by boiling henna and neem leaves, hibiscus, marigold, rose, harsingar flowers and indigo plant beans. We should use only natural colors and gulal in Holi.
Use of buttermilk, lemon, amla, bel, poppy seed syrup and sugarcane juice is beneficial in Holi and summer.

According to Ayurvedic medicine, in this season, food, vegetables and spices like wheat and mixed flour bread, moong dal, khichdi, green vegetables like okra, bitter gourd, munga i.e. drumstick, bhaji, mint, garlic, ginger should be included in your diet. should be included in Buttermilk, lemon, amla, vine, poppy seed syrup and sugarcane juice should be used in Holi and summer. But the consumption of these beverages sold in the market should be avoided because due to lack of cleanliness, there can be a risk of infection of many diseases.
Juicy and watery fruits like grapes, orange, sweet lime, watermelon and melon should be consumed in summer, which protects the body from dehydration. People should avoid consuming more fatty foods, rich food, non-vegetarian, cannabis etc. intoxicants and alcohol in the Holi festival in view of the impending summer, otherwise the risk of many diseases may increase which can spoil the color. The enthusiasm of Holi can be doubled by following these precautions and eating habits mentioned in Ayurveda.
